I was also fortunate enough to attend the Justin Kern workshop at the University of Chicago in May. Justin attracts a great group of people and I really enjoyed the entire experience. Justin shared some very helpful tips and I tried putting them to use in the images that we got that day. Justin encouraged us to move away from a symmetrical composition (one of my favorites) which I tried in these two images. Another tip was to give the viewer a path to walk through the photograph. Carson, Pirie, Scott & Company Building(Chicago, 1899). Originally designed by Louis H. Sullivan. The building has had many other names, such as the Schlesinger and Mayer Department Store, but in 2006, it was renamed The Sullivan Center. Currently, City Museum has a stair baluster on display, and also owns Terracotta facade pieces.
