Sailing the Seas

I have an Ocean Racing & Offshore Yachts book that someone gave me and had an idea to recreate a similar book sculpture I created a few years ago. I hand colored that other book sculpture with watercolors and later wished I had let it remain the natural whites of the pages. Well travelled German born British painter Walter Sickert, 1860 - 1942 died in Bath in Somerset, a city in which I now reside. His grave is just a stones throw away from my home in the beautiful church of St. Nicholas in Batheaston. Using antique papers some as old as the 1600s, eco dyed silks and linens, copper elements, vintage textiles and mixed media.
