A liturgy for: Loneliness in Motherhood
With this liturgy for loneliness, my desire is to give expression to our feelings as moms and also to allow our loneliness to become the path to the person of Jesus. Jesus - who felt intense loneliness during his ministry on earth among friends that never fully seemed to understand him, who experienced abandonment to an infinite extent on the cross as he was alienated from the Father - Jesus can enter into what we feel, full of compassion. My hope is that this liturgy would not only move you to receive the companionship of Christ but also to entrust with him your dreams for friendship. He is worthy of our hope, friends. A liturgy for: Losing Yourself in Motherhood
Moms, let’s remember that we don’t exist for our kids. But we also don’t exist for ourselves. We exist for the One who made us. The One who died and rose again for us. The One who desires nothing but life for us. The One who, using the refining circumstances of motherhood, brings us through more fully whole. “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
