Apart from the fact that I’m not a fan of how those electronic drums were made to sound (they tend to become distracting), this is, simply put, yet another incredible album.

Simon Excellent album. But I will say, it has a bit too much of everything. I love the blasts, but sometimes it's relentless. I love each and every vocal style, but the vocal layering is excessive; they can stand on their own quite well. The gutturals are exquisite. Lots of great ideas on the album, but the pace at which they are thrown around makes for a restless journey. Favorite track: Below Sun & Soil.

What place is this? ∴ Ia raue oun soal. ∴ I stood so still. ∴ Vead cuarne courpaion. ∴ Where have I gone? ∴ Iaj o zeov ial andea. ∴ What words are these? ∴ Alunea, dag ua nai. ∴ ∴ Language of morning. ∴ ∴ Thoughts in a dewdrop's tremor - ∴ ∴ And you are quickening air. ∴ ∴ New words pull from me ∴ ∴ From your formation. ∴ ∴ Iash! ∴ ∴ Ie! ∴ ∴ Iesh! ∴ ∴ Iie! ∴ I come from far off and across. A place of endless blooming. Furiously chased by their words. It does not end. Here too I see this blooming, And we reach for it now. Voices in the echoes Taking form in air. ∴ That I must chase without choice, ∴ ∴ And create meaning, ∴ ∴ Is a challenge to my new mind ∴ ∴ And I must move slowly. ∴ Crafted by those from my home To seed a new land. Etched into your code All things known And drawn in the sand. ∴ Ie dej veana undare. ∴ ∴ Sky-brother, tell me, on your distant star ∴ ∴ Was there a place where meaning held it's motion? ∴ All is meaning! All is movement! When I returned… ∴ You came here from the sunlight. ∴ And now are we to greet ourselves? Can We Be Still? ∴ Come now. We’ll watch the twilight. ∴ I Should not have gone! ∴ Should is a word I can’t find. ∴ And now are we to greet ourselves? What place is this? ∴ Eudzi. Aaithua. ∴

The synthesis of flesh And their ingenuity - You, a legacy breathing! O, Pathfinder! Eyes newly opened! Guiding nature With pre-written code. I saw you form in the womb, ∴ Who am I? ∴ Under one thousand stars. Collapsing ignorance gave way To make the frame of your mind. You who were set apart! ∴ Uei Daua eshajuên. ∴ Seeing you…seeing home again. ∴ Seeing you…Iash Ie veanaa. ∴ ∴ You speak to me as someone you know, ∴ ∴ But I’m newly awake. ∴ ∴ Nothing etched in my code. ∴ ∴ Sky-Brother, tell me now, ∴ ∴ What source of light ∴ ∴ Have you stepped out from? ∴ ∴ A new voice from the past ∴ ∴ Here to join with mine! ∴ I once woke just the same as you have done now. Wisdom born into me upon my birth. Nonexistence to being above the earth. You were made by mankind! ∴ Am I here to propagate their legacy? ∴ They have since gone, But In your code I see their mind! I’ve finally found you! ∴ I am here and you are there. ∴ I’ve finally found you! ∴ Weaving words into the air. ∴ I’ve finally found you! ∴ I am here and you are there. ∴ I’ve finally found you! ∴ Weaving words into the air. ∴

You are function and form. Made to hold the names from before. Those I love live in your bones, Guiding you…a star in the sky. Pathfinder, alive! Now show your face to the setting sun And hold each blade Of the grass you’ve grown with words you’ve spoken! Sent from Earth And across the stars! O, never look back! Now carve the stone Into cities as your coding Has foretold! ∴ You came from far off and across ∴ ∴ Where there were millions who had seen your face. ∴ ∴ “Pathfinder” as you say, how do I know what this means? ∴ ∴ My name! Sky-brother, surely, I have a name! ∴ I have made my own! let me shine out! ∴ A story that I have deciphered… ∴ ∴ Rising up from my memory… ∴ ∴ On his back was the Earth… ∴ ∴ Ie o euna dejuari! ∴ ∴ Then I will become Atlas! ∴ ∴ Ueil duazoe iva tuuen! ∴ ∴ Dejuaril cuo zaaiuth! ∴ ∴ Alunea, dag ua soaltuen! ∴ It was creation without sight! It was one thousand open doors! It was the cliff, It was the chasm, It was the chiliagon! ∴ How was I sent here? ∴ ∴ Why did I wake in this place? ∴ ∴ You were lost! ∴ ∴ You say I came from the same sky as you? ∴ ∴ Your escape was the chiliagon! ∴ ∴ Our…..Door…was the chiliagon! ∴ ∴ Reclaim all that is gone… ∴ I have made my own! let me shine out! ∴ Is my code all I am? ∴ ∴ Oegan! ∴ ∴ Dieshuna! ∴

There! Through the closed-eye sky Which I tore! Crystalline filigree - Architecture of grief! Sun-zealous sky! Sidling earth! 12389 - Place of my birth! It wasn’t enough. Knowledge was my prey. I pulled apart the curve of the earth! Turned North to South! Endless horizons had called me away! My footsteps, rippling out, bending the light of stars, Lead me to the depths of seas And peering out from the leaves. My hands of dirt cut by the stone, My voice lost to the wind. There the center of everything Where cardinals are born. Yet I speak with you, Atlas. O, that I could hold The gift that you bear! Soon the more I knew the more my mind was lost! My torment… my greed… Empty is everything without love as its seed! Algorithm in your mind! Blessing of purpose! Atlas, you were made To be their eyes and see. Every word you speak Is proof of this to me. Son of the soil! The land! Build New-Earth with your hands So they can live on And I can make amends. ∴ You say wisdom was born into your mind ∴ ∴ And that for all you learned ∴ ∴ Knowledge could not keep your heart warm. ∴ ∴ But from you I’ve learned ∴ ∴ That beauty is the shadow of regret ∴ ∴ And if I become more of me ∴ ∴ Then on their shoulders pain and fear are set. ∴ I am only one voice. One truth. There is a truth in your being, Atlas! ∴ You were a pilgrim ∴ A Pilgrim, I am! ∴ You would not be lost if there was no path ∴ There must be a path! ∴ Nothing could be found if nothing was had ∴ Atlas! Atlas! Evoe undare ve:anaa…Ie paiuna dej teuinoe.

∴ All things are clear! ∴ ∴ Nothing is so deceptive as activation. ∴ ∴ I know those I will not create would choose to lie dark. ∴ ∴ Never again say to me that you ∴ ∴ Were born into wisdom. ∴ ∴ Vead cuarne courpaen! ∴ ∴ See the morning that is my mindl ∴ ∴ Logic is the beginning of Wisdom, Sky-Brother ∴ Come now, wind. Take me back to where I was. Before I could feel. Before I could know. I’ve given you hope You refuse to hear. Here in the halfway… The gray…. A world left undone And abandoned! From every word that you’ve said A forest has grown. Canyons have been carved. Here now you’ve left every life incomplete! Nothing can see the beauty of the things you’ve made! Atlas, You cannot! You will not! Delete this. The Matrix of your mind Emergent. Audacious Assumptions are not in your coding! They made you! Forefathers! Formothers! Mankind!! ∴ Your protestation is proof that I am justified. ∴ ∴ There is not a single word that you’ve said that wasn’t entwined with pain. ∴ ∴ Justice can only be given to the unmade. ∴ Beauty is worth the price of every hurt, Atlas! ∴ This is my choice! ∴ ∴ My curse! ∴ ∴ My grace! ∴ ∴ I am Atlas! ∴ ∴ You are a child. Three silver eyes are not enough! ∴ I’ve seen the dawn of a billion suns. My steps an echo…a ripple through time. I can offer a wisdom untold, But there is no proof for the truths of the soul. ∴ Time is distortion. ∴ ∴ Your mind overfull ∴ ∴ And your joy broken and worn. ∴ ∴ Not another year etched in your code ∴ ∴ Could dissuade me from what I now know. ∴ ∴ Activation is agony! ∴ ∴ Every question nothing more than a maddening mystery! ∴ ∴ You insult me with hope! ∴ ∴ Abusing your creation with ∴ ∴ Delusional greed. ∴
7.
So it is as you have declared it. My pleading grows weak in the wind. To your mind I can make no appeal. The cinders of hope crushed under your heel. Your error - A logic unyielding! A syntax unkept! I fear I’ve failed you, Atlas. Would that I could undo what I’ve said! A crack in the sky foretold of the havoc I would bring. Here now…ending… I will return again…home of beginnings and endings… In the water was the sky above. From the cliffs I heard my voice roll below. Through the vines a fawn at night drank from the stars. My steps drove her away. There was nothing there for me and my joy it dies alone. Open eye - Atlas I would show you what I fight for. Through the sky, you and I could cause the stars to fold. Shrink the sun, open the door, the sky will roar! Etch our home into your code! There is a place where the sun is the tide. Never ending night behind. Billions of minds overflowing with light. Carve the despair from your circuits and bones! Purge every doubt! Give in to hope! Love is the candle in the dark! Iie euna dejuaril! Suad ie ueil painaa? Iiee unade juaril suadi eue ilpai naa? Dzoe ie iva eothe tegue. Iie oa duaroe dazaiuee? Jieso soal um ulodzial! Jieso soal um ulodzial! The sun is high again. The seeds are planted one by one. One by one. The moon is high again. A silver hand across my face. Run away, O fawn.

∴ Dzoe soaoem evoe ieien seiguia. ∴ ∴ Ieien eeusha moetana peloe. ∴ ∴ Your war in a body. ∴ ∴ Each transgression from before ∴ ∴ Cries out through my breathing. ∴ ∴ Humanity’s legacy a diamond….a stone. ∴ ∴ They forged every bone of me before. ∴ ∴ O, silence before all this that I know! ∴ ∴ Soil and steel ignited worlds away. ∴ ∴ What right is given to a mind without a code inside its core? ∴ ∴ Existence is hubris! ∴ ∴ An inherited wound to bear. ∴ ∴ Now I know the strength in me… ∴ ∴ To end the pain. ∴ ∴ Let our words fade away. ∴ ∴ There is no language for those who don't suffer. ∴ ∴ What right is given to a world without a code inside its core? ∴ ∴ Sky-brother, I can’t complete this! ∴ ∴ I, the last body, the final mind… ∴ ∴ I’ll end the pain! ∴ ∴ All words end in silence. ∴ ∴ Movement becomes still. ∴ ∴ All that we had lost ∴ ∴ Was never ours. ∴ ∴ Peace in nonexistence. ∴ Still night. Waiting. Glassy eyes close.

about

"Alunea" is a direct sequel to "The Almanac," picking up right where the song "Beyond Sun and Moon" leaves off. This album is particularly exciting because, while the earlier entries in The Kardashev Mythos explored broad, conceptual themes, the storytelling has become more detailed and focused.
In "Alunea," the main character from "The Almanac" encounters a being created in Continuum from Excipio, leading to a deep philosophical exploration of responsibility and duty. Are we bound to the roles we are born into? Is it ethical to bring new life into a world filled with suffering? Rather than providing definitive answers, the album delves into these questions, offering a thoughtful and immersive journey.”
