Yesterday nothing – or very little got done in the daytime I had been fighting off a headache for hours and I spent more time with my eyes shut then they were open but by last night I was feeling a bit better. I am starting to think when I get a new prescription for my glasses I need to get some contacts too. I used to wear them for a couple years a long time ago but never really got comfortable with them. But a lot of time now I have pain in back of my right ear no matter how much adjusting is done the glasses. I can see close up enough to read or use my phone and for stitching – but need my glasses to even read off of the computer without enlarging the print. A pair of contacts would come in handy then.
I did get some basil taken care of that I had drying in the dehydrator for the past 3 days – each day I had to add more time to it – finally today it was dry enough. I put the leaf’s in a coffee grinder and get it crushed. Then transfer the crushed to spice bottles. This is all I’m going to dry though I have so much in the garden and had forgotten when I planted it that I had a large jar of basil from Sam’s that I had picked up in late winter and I really don’t need more. I have a small jar and a large jar.
I got one more unit added to Honey, Honey
And here is the quilting from Tuesday night on Silent Night the headache started at the end of the quilting session or I wouldn’t have gotten done with so much. I don’t usually leave some thread behind but I do put the needle away.
Headaches are definitely no fun. You still made good progress on Silent Night. Hopefully today is a much better day.
Hope your headache went away. Glasses – I can’t wear them for more than a few minutes, no matter how well they are adjusted. I wore contacts for many years then stopped after my cataract surgery. Now I’m thinking about getting them again, since my eyesight messed up!
I bet that dried basil smells good.
How nice to have the basil you dried yourself on hand for cooking. I like the flavor of basil in soups and stew, and of course pasta sauces. I didn’t get a chance to leave a comment yesterday and tell you how nice the Broken Star quilt looks! I hope your headache is gone today!
Headaches that are still there after you’ve slept overnight are the pits! Hope you’re feeling better today. If contacts are a good solution to that problem, that would be helpful. Honey Honey and Silent Night are both looking good! I would never have thought to grind the dried basil in a coffee grinder – what a great idea!
I hope you are feeling better this morning. I ordered myself a new magnifying light combo on a floor stand to try. I can tell my eyes struggle more these days, too. Honey Honey is growing and I love the flannels in your silent Night quilt. I hope you are headache free today!
I share in the hope that your headache has passed. You mention you put your quilting needle away. I so need to get into that habit as I’m forever putting them here there and everywhere…..then searching for it!
