Providence, RI, has a small, but strong experimental music scene. It draws in an interesting music crowd. Lightning Bolt and Container are two examples. I don't recall how I stumbled on this Providence based musician. It has elements of Visible Cloaks and middle-period OPN, a lot of breathy mid-range textures and quickly changing, syncopated rhythms. It's not shallow stuff. There is a wide emotional range that is surprising and it doesn't shoot for cheap thrills, despite having a genre feel.
