How a Cat Can Feel Sometimes

She's in a small paper plate.  Her tiny!

Kitties!  I wonder what YOU think about this?  And that is, how we feel about the absence of our fur family AND our human family.   I have been concerned for Simon, Brian's family when Seal passed away. and how HE is faring.  May I tell you a story?  May be a bit long.

Very precious and loved still, Robin

Once upon a time, there was Robin, a tiny Tortie Queen who was completely devoted to two of her three human brothers (those two paid the most attention to her) They chose her when she was just hatched, as they saw her Mom across the street who became pregnant with five kittens.  Robin was one of them.  The boys asked  me if they could have one, and finally, Robin was chosen.  She came home with us when she was 7 weeks old.  The boys were quite young-- and already devoted to cats. They were in school, the lower grades, so it fell to me until they got home.  They and she became bonded quickly.  I was just the food person. Years passed.   Fast forward to the day when the boy she was particularly bonded with of the two I mentioned, went to University in Nashville.  It was sad for him as he (and his brother) loved her dearly, and she returned that love to both boys.  Finally, he was gone.  Do cat's grieve?  They most certainly do.  She had the youngest brother to love, but he was getting ready to graduate high school and soon to follow his other brother's footsteps.  He took over the intense love and holding, petting, playing, of the missing boy.  The missing boy in Nashville called Robin and talked on the phone to her while I held her, trust me she knew that voice!!  and also left her messages on the answering machine for her to listen to.  Which she did with riveted attention.  He sent her little 3" tapes talking to her to be played when she needed it.  She sealed herself to the speaker.  But the youngest boy to  whom her bonded care fell, rallied and made her better after a while.  However my point is, she longed for B. and didn't understand where he went to. N. took over for him and Robin was happy again.  When B. came home for the semester breaks and holidays, it was just joy for them both. For all of us.  Human and furred.   She was the ruling Matriarch!  Everything revolved around her,  Everything, even trips,  for me as well...I was just as in love with her as the boys.

She only weighed about 6 pounds.

She was a tiny and intelligent cat.  If you all don't mind, I would like to post another about her intelligence here soon.

We used to say she was saying her prayers.

Three weeks

Angel Katie sends real love and kissies for your loving cards and letters and emails.

Katie's sisfur's MIL sent these flowers for Katie, as seen above.

Angel Katie-- who misses every single one of you.

 Kitties, Woofies!! 💓

I wanted to share these with you.  I am grateful beyond the telling for each card that came to me and Angel Katie.  There were several letters as well, but I wanted to share these and tell you how wrenchingly precious they are to me.  They will always be in their own drawer in the Oaken Library Card Catalogue I have in my room.  All of the things I could never part with from both girls are in there.  I wish when I go myself that those things could come with me.  A fang, a BUNCH of whiskers from both girls, their most precious-to-them toys...anything that was dear to them personally was dear to me as well.  So it's saved as will be Katie's cards.   Admiral's are already in a special drawer.  Both girls' hand- made small blankies are folded with love and they too, are in the chest.  The girls went to Heaven in them.  I brought them home to save forever.

I still say good morning and I say good night each day.  I say I'm home when I come in the kitchen door.  I tell them I miss them.  Lately I have heard nor seen anything that might be from them.  But those two audible meows last week were rivetingly attention getting in the middle of the night.

Momma here closing this particular bloggie and I will see you tomorrow.  I need to, because I wonder if I can get past this. You all are friends and family.

That Was Mom's Date. Not Mine....

Oh Gosh, that was MOM'S date she was waiting for..not mine!  I'm not that kinda LadyCat! Thought you could tell by the toenails.

Mom was going to show you the other day what I did a few days before I flew away.  Made her happy when she came into my room here on her usual circuit through all the rooms opening mini blinds and so on.  This greeted her.  She even thanked me for it for pete sake!

She usually goes and turn over the spare room's trash too.  Why stop at one?

Leopard stays here night and day.

Right there on my pillow, not hers...as usual.

Ain't it the truth???

If I am Lucky!

Kitties!  Woofies!!

If I am lucky, this handsome gentleman will ring the bell and I will open the door and find this study in love out there waiting, just for me.  Tell me who would not be enchanted?  He is a dream come true.

Granny said something today on a comment for the last blog that BOTH girls meowed at me two nights ago.  I thought if anyone did, it was Katie.  I however agree with Granny .  Both are loved and knew it...so both spoke to let me know I was still loved despite not having either in the bed with me.

My car at the body shop is ready today at 3:30.  I managed to round someone up to take me there to pick it up.   That is a full day earlier than I was told.  Can't beat that with a stick.

I'm comfy, asleep and in charge.

Who Woulda Thought?

Kitties!  Woofies!  This is both of us here.  Angel Katie and Mom.

Guess what?  Mom has already told several dear friends already this morning that last night as she was sleeping..she was awakened by a semi loud "meow".  She didn't just open her eyes, she was jolted awake so to speak, (with the resultant faster- for- a- few- seconds, heartbeat.) Then another meow, total of two...slightly less loud.  Normal "conversational" tone by cats.  Not a screech.  The first was meowed with an upward seeming tilt at the end, and the second one following right behind the first, was as if there was a period at the end.  So, like a question and then,  a reply.

I lay there galvanized for a few minutes wondering how and why and what.  I fell asleep while wondering it seems.

I will swear I heard the two meows differing in tonal quality.  It jolted me awake.  And I was. Awake I mean.

To those who want to know, I am doing alright for all that has happened.  The pain of it will come in  waves several times in the day.  It is a fact of life that a beloved pets passing is unspeakably hard to deal with.

Happy Sunday everyone.  And heartfelt thank you's for each and every single message or comment  or letter with your heartfelt offering of love and care.

Hit It On the Nail Head

Kitties, Mom and I saw something on Face Book.  We made a screen shot of it to share here.  Mom said she has never seen the reason for the deep sadness when explained in such a way as this one I am posting.

Mom has family, kids, friends, all of that but:  The cartoon, if we want to call it that, explains why singletons as she has been for a while, might suffer pet family loss on a different level.

Love and headbonks...side rubs too, more headbonks and purrs to you all.  That's from me.  Mom just said she would keep her dignity and spare you  those from her---and keep them from me from me~

Good Meowning

Kitties and Woofies, not a lot going on today but here I am!  Here we are, me and Mom.

Night before last,  about half an hour before bedtime-- and Mom was reading a new book.  Silent in the living room, which was lit by one lamp.  So...reading along, she felt the quick brush of fur against the front of her calf.  A common thing each day.  She lowered the book to acknowledge who her mind thought was me.  That was something that I did as I came from down the hall and up to mom ready to be picked up...or invited to climb up the recliner foot platform.  But I wasn't there to be seen.  It was so real she said next day to a friend.  The feeling of fur going by as usual was so genuine seeming.  It was shocking to her that I wasn't there to be picked up, hugged to her chest, smooched all over and talked to.

But it wasn't saddening.  That it wasn't, surprised her.  Me...I am alright...there are many furriends I have seen and  that I play with as well as my sisfur in the fur, Admiral.  Mom will still say "Good Morning" when she sits up...and still say "Mom is home" when she comes back home.  And "I love you" sometimes.

Today is selfie day.  I will use pictures I can find in Mom's albums.
