The Vice President of Palau is a very important leader in the government of Palau. This person is the second-highest official, right after the President. Think of them as the President's main helper and partner!
The Vice President is chosen by the people of Palau in special elections. These elections happen separately from when the President is chosen. Once the President starts their job, the Vice President becomes a key member of the Cabinet. The Cabinet is a group of top advisors who help the President run the country. The President can also give the Vice President other important tasks to do. Since 2010, the Vice President of Palau has earned US$65,000 each year.
