1.
Great beasts wield dominion over severe desert skies Heaving reptilians carrying themselves on leathery wings Creatures terrorise with malice and predatory appetite Whispers spread of a warrior’s arrival with a rumoured might Armoured in silver, visiting like from a dream To slay the villains, cruelty too great to bear On a golden steed with lance reflecting the sun Meeting dragons, piercing until conflict is won But the final match proves fatal for Paladin Delivering a death blow, so does he suffer a wound This is the elegy For our hero The Paladin star As his blood stains the dune which will soon engulf him These deeds will carry until the light of our world fades dim
2.
Machine Gun 06:00
Tall grass shimmering with flashing pattern Bullets like fireflies in tropical nightmare Jungle heaving and hungry with Jurassic heart Gorged on youth, incinerate the harvest Machine gun, hidden in the trees Machine gun, camouflaged in leaves River flowing with blood, steel, and flesh Corpses sink to the muddy, ancient, oily depths Oblivious in death to this battle seizing final breaths For reason impressed since we took our earliest steps Machine gun, feeding on men Machine gun, firing until the end Machine gun, spitting iron might Machine gun, lightning in the night The soil is seeded with indiscriminate gore But there’s an appetite only craving more How many years have the gun shots rained? And how long will they cease before they reign again?
3.
Ancient men once suffered under the threat of a prehistoric evil A force waiting for civilisation to discover it Painting destruction until eventually captured by an alchemist Who knows what evil survives in our world Remaining in shadow and collecting dust An earthquake splits, sundering an abandoned village In a room, from a shelf, a glass jar shatters Released, trapped for one hundred years and a thousand before that A shape flees into the wilderness, scurrying away Manifesting our worst fears Escaped from the alchemist’s lair, to revenge its day Hearts of men now poisoned, pregnant with vitriol Brutality hanging over a once precarious peace A weak king is infected Host now to this wandering evil Encouraged in necrotic whisper To wage a final war Two armies clash, the monarch is slain Evil does dash and flees again Searching wide now for a new host It writhes and climbs like an oil-slick ghost Back to dust, back to survival, back to rust, back to denial
4.
What was once a stronghold of justice and of righteousness Invaded, infected, sickened, transformed into perverted reflection What shined in the sun with crystalline fidelity Turned to barren shadow Sewn with salt Choked in malady But all seasons pass, no darkness is completely absolute Now night retreats slowly, the gradient starts to shift to light This is the Osgiliath reclamation The grasp of the orc enemy loosens As he who wandered now becomes king Osgiliath returned to the dominion of men And here, once again, the people sing The streets return exploding with life and bloom Ellesar will be celebrated on this joyous noon
