Tribute to Veronica

Hi everyone!
 
 
This week and next, rather than running our usual Blog Hop, the Design Team at The Paper Shelter is honouring our beautiful co-founder Veronica, who tragically left us on the 25th of September 2024.




Veronica was a kind, supportive, beautiful soul, who alongside her co-founder Pedro, produced the images we all know and love to create with.

There is a vacuum in the world today, where Veronica used to be, and we will miss her terribly.

So, as a tribute to Veronica, the challenge theme this time is "In honour of those we love".

On my card I used Cozy Christmas Together image and coloured it with alcohol markers. I added some patterned paper and a frame but kept the card otherwise quite simple. There is a lot of glitter on the frame, the edges of the card and patterned paper and also some on the girl's hat (doesn't show on the picture unfortunately).

Gift delivery

Hi!

It's time for a new Polkadoodles Craft challenge, come and join us here 😊
 
I used Gnome Naughty or Nice stamp set and matching die set. I stamped the image, coloured it with alcohol markers and then die cut it. Then I added some glitter glue and details with white gel pen and white paint pen. The house part I made with stencil and distress ink, added the windows and lastly some details with white paint pen. Then I just taped the image on the upper part of it. It was so fun to do this!

CAS Christmas tree card

Hi!

It's time for a new Polkadoodles Craft challenge, come and join us here 😊

I wanted to create something clean and quite simple. I used Deck the Halls stamp set and stamped the frame and the tree on the watercolour paper. Then I coloured them with metallic watercolours. Lastly I stamped the Joy text with embossing ink and added gold embossing powder. Pretty joyous card, don't you think 😊

Christmas Night

Hi!

It's time for a new Polkadoodles Craft challenge, come and join us here 😊
 
I decided to go with a Christmas scene theme. I used Scenic Christmas stencil and Distress Inks to create the upper part of the card. I added some trees and the sentiment at the bottom part with Night Sky stamp set. Lastly I added some falling snow with white paint pen.

Christmas tea card/gift

Hi!

It's time for a new Polkadoodles Craft challenge, come and join us here 😊

I got an idea of a Christmas tea cup card/gift combination. 
 
I used the background paper, cute penguin and sentiment from Winnie White Christmas big kahuna and a cup from Cactus Cup (I just cut the cactus part away). I coloured the cup with Distress Inks and a metallic gold brush pen. The penguin is precoloured but I added a little more colour to it with alcohol markers. The sentiment part is also coloured with Distress Inks and then taped over a tea bag. 
 
After everything was coloured I taped the cup to the background so that the tea bag fits there perfectly and comes out when you pull the tea bag string upwards. Great card/little gift for a tea lover 😊

CAS Christmas card

Hi!

It's time for a new Polkadoodles Craft challenge, come and join us here 😊

We were asked to create something Christmas related. I actually coloured one Winnie image to create a card but then I changed my mind and wanted something more simple. And use mostly blue colours. 
 
I stamped the bigger tree from the Jingle Bells Christmas stamp set and Christmas text from Smiley Snowman stamp set and then added a delicate background with Distress Ink and Heavenly Circles stencil. I coloured the tree with Sharpie pens and added a glossy accent over the "bubbles". Lastly I drew a frame near the card's edge because it looked too simple without it. And I really love the result.

Merry Christmas

Hello!
 
It's time for a new challenge at The Paper Shelter challenge blog and this time the theme is "Anything goes". 
 
On my card I used this beautiful Follow the Stars image and coloured it with alcohol markers. I added some pearl making pen on the white parts of the cape to create 3d-effect and also added glitter glue around the lantern. Lastly I added Joulurauhaa die cut (meaning Have a Peaceful Christmas).

Magical Christmas Scene

Hi!

This time I created a magical winter/Christmas scene. I used the Colouring Scene 2 Christmas and Candy Cane Elf images, designed the layout with a text editor program and printed it. Then I coloured it with alcohol markers and taped it on a blue cardboard.

Buying the tree

Hi!

It's time for a new Polkadoodles Craft challenge, come and join us here 😊

On this card I used the image and sentiment from the Winnie White Christmas Big Kahuna (you can also find the precoloured Buying the Tree as a single image). Even though the image is precoloured, I added some pink and green colours to it because the printed colours were too light for me 😊 Then I just added the green die cut card base.

Sparkly Christmas

Hi!

It's time for a new Polkadoodles Craft challenge, come and join us here 😊

I designed this CAS card with a text editor program. I used the Lantern/Candle Ligh precoloured image and a sentiment from Christmas Greetings, Quotes, Sentiments and printed the creation when I was happy with the layout. 
 
I added some glitter glue around the lantern and glitter gel pen over the sentiment and around the card edges to create some sparkle.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Here is my last Christmas card for this year 😊

I used the Decorations image and coloured it with alcohol markers.

The text is made with Gingerbread Holly Alphabets and I coated them with glossy accents before taping them into the card.

It's beginning to smell a lot like Christmas

Hi!

Only a few days to Christmas, OMG! I think this cards sentiment might be true in many houses at the moment 😊

I used Christmas Cutie and Hat and Scarf images and coloured them with alcohol markers. 

The background paper is from Gingerbread Holly Papers 1 set and I added some red pearls (made with a pearl maker pen) as holly berries.

The sentiment is from Gingerbread Holly Greetings set.

Merry Christmas shaker card

Happy Sunday!

Here's cute Christmas shaker card with Theo Penguin 😊

I used the Sweet Candy Stick image and coloured it with alcohol markers. I also used a pink and turquoise pearl pen on the candy stick to make it look more like real candy.

The papers are from Theo Penguin Paper Bundle 3 and the text is from Theo Penguin Greetings Bundle.

Ho ho oh!

Hi everyone!

Here's another gingerbread card. This time I wanted to play with kraft cardboard and pastel colours.

I used the Oh Crumbs image and coloured it with alcohol markers. 

The papers are from Sweet Gingerbread paper pack, I added some Distress Inks on the edges. Text is from Gingerbread Holly Greetings/Sentiments bundle.
