The crab mentality is a way of thinking that is seen far too often within our society. Described by the phrase, "If I can't have it, neither can you," it is clear how such a thought process could be detrimental to success. When others fight those who try to do something unorthodox, it prevents success in any form. The crab mentality is a highly toxic form of thinking that limits any type of progression.

FILIPINO CRAB MENTALITY: Simply put, this refers to the behavior of preventing someone from achieving something due to jealousy or envy. Instead of praising or rendering assistance, someone with crab mentality thinks “if I can’t have it, then you can’t as well” and will purposely try to bring his/her victim down.
