"image of God", is a theological concept in Christianity and Judaism that describes the relationship between God and humanity. It is a fundamental aspect of Judeo-Christian belief and is rooted in the Bible, Genesis 1:27, which states, "God created man in his own image".

"Then God said, "Let us make humankind in our image, according to our likeness" Genesis 1:26. "God who created man out of love also calls him to love the fundamental and innate vocation of every human being. For man is created in the image and likeness of God who is himself love." (CCC 1604)
