“Flow” extensions is adding extension hair to the end of a natural dreadlock to form an extension on the spot.
Pre-made extensions are made beforehand & you just need to attach to the natural dreadlock.
There are pros & cons to both.
Flow extension Pros:
🌱can match the diameter of the natural loc
🌱can control on the spot how much loose hair is left out
Flow Cons:
🌱takes longer/more hours in the chair
🌱takes forever 🫣
Pre-made Pros:
🌱faster install
🌱already styled/ready to go

DREADLOCK COTTAGE (Heather) on Instagram: "🌾Let’s talk about it!🌾 I have been seeing a LOT more people requesting them & dreadlock artists doing them! ANYTHING added to your natural locs adds weight. Lizzie’s & Congo’s do the same. (Lizzie’s are a short dreaded part/loose ends that are attached to just the top row of natural locs underneath your loose hair on a partial) (Congos are a longer dread extension, usually the total length of your natural locs & gives more dreadlocks; 2 dreadlocks from one section/root, can be added to a partial or full head) I WILL add 5-6 Lizzie’s to a new partial installation. (They are extremely lightweight) I normally will NOT add Congos during an initial install. (A bit heavier weight than Lizzie’s) I sometimes won’t add ANY! Why?
