Here’s another Halloween craft project I put together… a mini vampire defense kit! It’s small enough to carry in a coat pocket. The original Victorian kits were popular around 1900’s after the publication of Dracula. The kits mainly were sold to tourists traveling in Europe.

Victorian vampire kit

The label reads as follows… “Emergency Vampire Kit “ “Vaughn Heslingk Edition” “Trusted in Homes Since 1208” The old cedar box is weathered and aged. The chain, from which to hang this treasure, is rusted. The vintage bottle of “official” holy water has long since dried out with the passage of time. A venerable wooden cross is draped with a rusted tin cross hanging from white rosary beads. A stout wooden stake finishes this collection. All of it looks weathered and aged, the label is smudged…
