Jizz is used quite commonly by birders in Britain. I don’t know if your brother is British or American but I’d assume it’s just a term that never caught on in America and that’s why your brothers never heard of it?
Jolan@lemmy.worldto World News@lemmy.world•Germany plans to halve military aid for UkraineEnglish3·2 years agoPlease do you have sources to back up your claims that none have been shipped since around October? I don’t want to sound like I’m trying to disprove you but would like to use and see the sources myself.
Jolan@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's a common occurrence in your hobby that you think shouldn't be?6·2 years agoAlso whenever there’s a rarity photographers always insist on going off the path to get as close as possible often scaring off the bird which obviously ruins it of everyone else who’s just trying to see it from a reasonable distance.

Jolan@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•Don’t learn to code: Nvidia’s founder Jensen Huang advises a different career pathEnglish1·2 years agoI think this is going to age really badly and I don’t like LLMs but I think it will be soon. People also said that AI as we see it now is decades away but we got it quite quickly so I think it’s a very small step to go from writing fully grammatically correct English to fully correct code. It’s basically just a language the ai has to learn. But I guess what do I know. We’ll just have to wait and see
Jolan@lemmy.worldto science@lemmy.world•School uniforms may be barrier to physical activity among younger girls92·2 years agoI went to a British school and it may have helped against being judged for what you wore but instead people just judge you on everything else like your haircut or the way you speak or the way you act etc. If people want to judge you they will snd what you’re wearing won’t stop that. Not to add people from poorer backgrounds will have broken/ripped/dirty uniform so it does not help at all.

One Google search and it turns out that normal tickets range from 49-499 depending on where you’re stood/seated. This $659 is meant for the best seats for the richest people.

Everyone’s was in love with him and though he was the real life tony stark at that point. I hadn’t even heard of the fact he called the rescuer a pedo until s couple months ago (way after I realised he was a dick). To be fair, this is all anecdotal, but many people didn’t know and I want to give Mr beast the benefit of the doubt. Not to add this was three years ago before all of the other bad stuff he said.

Jolan@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•X appears to be juicing MrBeast’s views to woo the YouTuber to the platform, pushing video upload into users’ feeds as an unlabeled adEnglish83·2 years agoHe probably just didn’t know about how shit of a person he was. In 2020 everyone loved musk, me included, mostly just because most people didn’t dig deep into what type of person he was. I want to give Mr beast the benefit of the doubt here because I don’t think he’s an innately bad person like Elon is.
