Poxlox@lemmy.worldto World News@lemmy.world•Just 0.001% hold three times the wealth of poorest half of humanity, report findsEnglish8·17 days agoJust gotta do the math with the right variables. 50% of PEOPLE not of total wealth. So, the poorest half of people have a wealth sum equivalent to all the wealth owned by the richest .001%.

Jk. But i did hear that most/a lot of those were incest or rape based since that’s super illegal in many countries, so payment processor companies pushed for their removal. Not to mention, many removals were country-specific, not worldwide. Frankly that’s fine by me, not sorry your anime rape and incest games are gone

Poxlox@lemmy.worldto You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK that "AI" in itself is highly unspecific term2·5 months agoThat’s not quite right, the discussion of consciousness, mind, and reasoning are all relevant and have been in the philosophy of artificial intelligence for hundreds of years. You are valid to call it AI within your definitions but those are not exactly agreed on, such as whether you ascribe to Alan Turing or John Searle, for example
Poxlox@lemmy.worldto You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK that "AI" in itself is highly unspecific term2·5 months agoThere’s also a philosophical definition, which I think is hotly contested so depending on your school of thought your belief of is LLM AI can vary. Usually many people take issue with the thought over questions like does it have a mind, think, or have consciousness?

We live in such a bizarre world that tramples on precedent constantly that I also don’t blame anyone for believing it, but I do however think people who spread info have a further degree of responsibility to vet it, and those who recognize misinformation should hopefully fight it.

Poxlox@lemmy.worldto You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK that apart from not having a car and voting, the single greatest thing you can do for the climate is simply eating less red meat.5024·6 months agoAll you fuckers act like your individual choice to not eat meat or have kids won’t just have another eat up the same resources or have kids in your stead. We need smart people to have ethical kids and we need extreme systematic political change for any real affect whatsoever. Even if the ENTIRE WORLD dropped red meat, while still a good chunk, it’s only 6% of our global annual emissions that we’d save. The top 3 sectors for emissions are energy transportation and general industry which makes up about 75% of global emissions, at about 25% each. The individual choices not mattering as much as political systematic change is huge, and that won’t happen if the Trumpers are having most of the kids and we’re having stupid divisive arguments about what our individual food choices should be.
Poxlox@lemmy.worldto Mildly Interesting@lemmy.world•Americans overestimate the size of minority groups and underestimate the size of most majority groups9·6 months agoI did a quick check on one of the facts, the christian one, this says 70% in 2022 but i see 62% for 2022, which is a lot closer to the 58% estimate. Makes me feel a bit sketched out about possible cherry picking, but cool notion still.
