  • For the doorway cover I’d go with a tarp and use some stick-on Velcro strips so it can be hung up and taken down easily

The oven will probably have to be set to its maximum temperature, and a small fan to help circulate the hot air will probably help

You should only use the oven as the heat source if it’s electric, though. Letting that much burned gas into a small space is really bad for you and possibly some kinda fire hazard. There are portable electric sauna heaters as an alternative

Keep in mind that if you have pantry items (rice, crackers, etc.) in the same room as all that heat and humidity, they’ll spoil faster

Otherwise, sounds like a fun project!

  • sugar is a preservative in that a high enough concentration draws enough water out of microbial cells to kill them or prevent their growth

    that’s why honey doesn’t spoil

whatever you’re trying to preserve with sugar, you’ll have to use a very high concentration, to the point it’ll become a syrup- or jam-like consistency. so if that’s not a dealbreaker it’s worth a try

  • that’s me, been trapped in that cycle since I had to pay several months’ rent with credit card during covid

aside from some dings due to high credit usage, my score is good. mainly because i have a shit load of cards i opened years ago, so my average account age is high.

I’m not a particularly responsible spender and have a shit ton of debt, but since I make the CC companies a bunch of money by paying balance transfer fees all the time, I’m profitable. So my score is high.

    What a stupid world
