Well perhaps if they sold usable EVs, instead of an overpriced truck and an overpriced SUV/sports car hybrid they might have better sales. Otherwise it’s just pissing in your lemonade and then complaining that no one comes to your stand.

No attorneys, no hearing. That’s some North Korean shit.
It was pretty obvious from the first 5 minutes that this was not a short trial, and that what we see is not the full trial but the final veredict hearing. There’s even mention of the captain vying to lower the mother’s sentence.

Not a newt@piefed.cato News@lemmy.world•Minute Maid is discontinuing frozen juices after 80 yearsEnglish10·9 days agoI don’t believe that. On electric vehicles, 90% of the energy is used to move the thing. A charged EV battery can power a standard household worth of appliances for two days.
Furthermore, the energy expenditure to dehydrate the concentrate is a one-time b cost, whereas transportation cost increases with distance.
What I DO believe is that manufacturers see transportation as less of a cost, because they offload it to distribution networks.

Not a newt@piefed.cato Buy Canadian@lemmy.ca•Think you're buying Canadian at the grocery store? That product may actually be from the U.S.English8·14 days agoIt also needs to distinguish between Canadian ownership and US ownership. Even if made in Canada with Canadian ingredients, if the profits end up leaving the local economy then it’s barely any better than foreign made.
Not a newt@piefed.cato No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What is the optimal handle to chain length for a flail?English3·15 days agoIn my (non expert) opinion, the chain should be shorter than the distance of the handle to the end of the stick. Otherwise you risk pulping your knuckles with a stray flail head.
One thing you should know is that the launcher is effectively maintained by a single person, and new versions have historically required updates to the launcher before working. This means that you usually have to wait a couple of days or weeks before being able to play the latest version. This is not a problem when playing with others also using the launcher, but it does become grating when it comes to cross play with mobile or Windows platforms.

Not a newt@piefed.cato Linux@programming.dev•Ubuntu Pro subscription - should you pay to use Linux?English2·19 days agoThat one is not LTS, you’ll want to update to 26.04 sooner rather than later.
Not a newt@piefed.cato Linux@programming.dev•Ubuntu Pro subscription - should you pay to use Linux?English6·20 days agoNot true. 22.04 is not EoL and it doesn’t get all CVE patches backported unless you’re on Pro.
Not a newt@piefed.cato Linux@programming.dev•Ubuntu Pro subscription - should you pay to use Linux?English27·20 days agoUnfortunately, it’s both. They also hold back security updates for non-latest releases that are still covered under Standard support. I work in an environment where we track new CVEs for our builds, and we constantly see vulnerabilities for 22.04 that are fixed in Pro but not made available otherwise.
Sure, technically you can opt into Pro as an individual user without paying, but it puts everyone who uses off the shelf installs and containers at risk and is therefore an immoral and unethical process in my opinion.
With Heroic, no hassle at all.
