Unfortunately, that’s not true.
It’s only coming to Android devices running Google Play Services, aka GMS. So Huawei and degoogled Android devices are left out. They write about walled garden, but it’s just a tunnel between two walled gardens.
At least we have Localsend
Localsend is actually really good, but requires a wifi network. I can’t get someone like my mother to install and use a separate app, so the two interoperating is crucial.
Use pairdrop.net, in my opinion, it’s pretty easy to convince people to use that, because it works well, is intuitive and they don’t need to install anything
