What’s the point of the interior minister resigning? To me, it comes off as “fuck this, I’m not dealing with it”

I know it’s likely framed more as a punishment for being shit at his job, but now they need a new interior minister who has to fix it. It would seem like the more efficient way to go about it is; fix your fuckup, then resign if that’s still what the people want. Just fucking off when you actually have to do your job is fucking selfish.
