The personnel action was reversed, though, when it was determined that no other pilot was immediately available to operate the aircraft for the return flight.

If it were me I’d demand a substantial raise first.

Reminds me of the time a cop lost his wallet and accused me and a coworker at the gas station he visited of stealing it. He left it at home on his toilet. Apologize? Nope. Coworker was in tears and ended up quitting. I was a part timer / in high school and was leaving anyway at some point

Just shows what kind of person becomes a cop. In high school there was a kid that I’m 90% sure stole my wallet when it was sitting on a bus during a trip but I wasn’t going to freak out about it, I just held a grudge against him afterwards and was more careful.

I met a former cop at a bar my sister bartended at once. He told me he didn’t make it long as a cop because what people don’t understand is just how fucked in the head these guys are. He said you really have to be the worst of the worst type people to make it and if you aren’t morally fucked in the head you’ll either quit or they’ll push you out.

Yeah that’s the thing, there are sometimes “good” people that become cops, but they either have to ignore that goodness or get shunned and quit. My dad was a correctional officer at a state prison, he ended up being closer to the inmates and hated by all his coworkers because he wasn’t an asshole enough. He was never really a fan of police or the justice system, but he said after seeing it from the inside it was like they were purposely trapping the inmates in the cycle, and the officers were almost all racist assholes.

yep makes sense. One of my good friends from high school ended up being a CO at the state prison. After a year or two he was noticably racist. He talked about the ‘coming race war’ more and more often which was just bizarre. Then he cut off all contact with the rest of us after about 3 years in. Haven’t heard from him since really.

The incident occurred after a maintenance issue required a change of planes.

Since when is it the pilot’s responsibility to ensure the passengers take all their personal items with them?

  • hopefully this story is dumb and specific enough to become something that follows her around.

like really, a personal blankie for your professionally chartered flights? how about some chocolate milk and a stuffy to hold on your way to survey those concentration camps.

A DHS spokeswoman did not address the specific episode but said Kristi Noem has made personnel decisions intended “to deliver excellence.”

    incredible.
