You hate this narrow use of AI in the commercial space . AI is so much larger and is used in many more amazing things that actually improve humanity than just making funny pictures and chatbots to squeeze more profit out of consumers. I know this because I’ve researched AI for climate for a long time now.

I do AI research for climate and other things and it’s absolutely widely used for so many amazing things that objectively improve the world. It’s the gross profit-above-all incentives that have ruined “AI” (in quotes because the general public sees AI as chatbots and funny pictures, when it’s so much more).

Yeah maybe, but if it’s a close race (due to gerrymandering and insane voter suppression from Republicans), then those attributes of woman and minority may just be enough to cause the uninformed racists/misogynists to vote another Republican into office. We absolutely cannot have that no matter what. America needs to swing so hard to the left after this it’ll make FDR look centrist.

It’s definitely debatable on the exact percentage, but I saw many interviews of people on the street who were mostly unaware politically, and the first thing they said they either didn’t vote or voted Trump was because they didn’t think a woman was emotionally strong enough to lead the country.

Actually after writing that paragraph I looked it up. Four in 10 Americans say they know someone who would not vote for a woman president.

I kinda hope they don’t run AOC. Can we just get all of the progressiveness without a brown woman? It’s sad but a ton of people won’t vote for her just because she’s a woman, and not white. It’s a sad mark of America but that’s just what it is.
