Grace for the Q&L challenge

This was tricky! I thought I would find loads and loads of inspiration for the words grace or peaceful ,  but it was really difficult!!!

Finally yesterday evening listening to the radio, I heard Mumford & sons "with grace in your heart and flowers in your hair" ( after the storm)  and thought PERFECT!

I had the perfect stamps of course - Dina Wakley and Traci Bautista, acrylics, stencils and doodling and - voila!

So, here we go again - another journal page for the Q&L challenge at the craft barn.

Wow, suddenly the sun returned! Otherwise only rain, rain, rain...

This journal page made me happy - my letter Q for the craft barn. I could have chosen quadrat too , but having a quilting/patchwork history - I almost felt like "coming home"...:-)

I used stamps from Sodalicious and l`encre et l`ìmage and the alphabet set is from sizzix , called "Man, oh man"... (thanks Katherine!)

letter N and spooktacular

... well, well, well... never said my english was perfect!
Today , the letter N was chosen for the fortnightly dictionary challenge at the craft barn.
I started this page thinking "neon" until I realized that the english word must be fluo, like in french. SOOO - rethinking...
I found my gorgeous cherry pie art stamps and made the page into a spooky " NECROMANCY" entry. And because it is spooky, I may enter the challenge at artful times where the theme is "spooktacular".

letter L with a twist - a window...

... and here we go again;
This fortnight, the letter at the craft barn is the letter L. I chose the word "lodge" and used an old rubber stamp - maybe "my" lodge is a little bit too fancy and big to be called a lodge, but this is how the page turned out.
The background is made with Neocolor II and distressed inks.

Hello again!
Finally I'm back to join the challenge again - this time the letter G, and I used the word geometry. Maybe not my favorite class in school, but now I love those shapes.

This time the letter O is wanted at the craft barns fortnightly dictionnary challenge. Because I had been away for some time, I suddenly couldn't find my nose-stamp from fusion art ... SOOO I had to make a collage instead. Hope you like it!

the letter B

Hello again!

I've had some busy weeks and no time for ME and my basement...well, to be honest, I HAD the time but I didn't fell like crafting. My husband went to Africa and the first couple of weeks I enjoyed all my "free" time, but after 2 weeks it wasn't funny anymore. I started to miss him! This is, of course, a good sign for our marriage, but I just couldn't get my stamps out...

Yesterday we got the good news that our Lisa, made her year, and now can call herself  "éducatrice diplomee". She has been nervous and grumpy and it has not been the easiest time in life to be with her these couple of weeks. Our youngest daughter still has another 2 weeks of school until we get her results - this weekend she is off to "Rock A Field" - a big out door music event here in Luxemburg - I hope she will be okay...! Our son seems to be happy in Germany and that is nice too..!  ...one should NOT complain!

Anyway - this is my entry to the alpha challenge at the craft barn.

I choose the word "bottle" and used stamps from the swedish company Reprint and from  crafty individuals. I might seem hard - using poison bottles and writing "in vino veritas" but bottles are bottles!!!
I do enjoy my glass of red, but we have to remember, that for many people wine (and other alcohol) really can be like poison...

...and now I'm off to our yearly "promenade gourmande" -the sun is back and we expect 21-24° today - not bad at all!!!

the letter U for the craft barn

Ever heard of Mamma Mu?  The ones who do follow this blog ( even though I removed the follow button a couple of years ago...) will remember this image - I've used different ones but always from the same author.
Mamma Mu is "just" a cow, but she still wants to try other things that "normal" cows don"t do. This time she wants to go on the swings. I love the expression on her face - how does it work, why don't I move...? Maybe I like it so much because I work with children and this expression is quit familiar now... and THEN the big relief and the excitement when they find out that YES they can do it - it works!!!

The images are from Sven Nordquist and the story from Jujja and Tomas Wieslander.

My children always loved these stories when they were "small" and me, the mother, is still stuck...

I remember a t-shirt my son wore some years ago - "you laugh at me beacause I'm different, I laugh at you because you are all the same..." At the time , I thought he was brave to wear a text like that....

Anyway, what I want to say here is, that I think it is good when we dare to be different and Mamma Mu difinitely dares to... Look at her on those swings , the udder hanging there .... and here we are - the lettter U for the craft barn alpha challenge letter U.

Mamma Mu (the udder) is my entry.

I used my gelli plate to create the background, using real feathers as well. The peacock feather is one of the last ones from peacock Paul...

Letter K for the craft barn

Happy sunday everybody!

Lots of rain in Luxemburg today = lots of time to spend in the crafty room!

I really enjoyed my afternoon and I had this feeling of  "letting go", you know? 4 projects finished and this is the first to put on the blog - Letter K for the Craft Barn . In swedish, danish, german I could find a lot of words starting with K, but in english...? Not very many.

I ended up with K for KITE - did anyone of you read the gorgeous book "the kiterunner"? If not, please do!!! A wonderful book about people in Afganistan.

The ART journal page for two challenges.

Hello again! What a day - a bad, bad day.... I woke up with tummy ache at 5 o'clock and ended feeling awful at 5 in the afternoon. A wasted day - and all the things I had planned to do!!!

Anyway - this is my entry to the craft stampers challenge, where we should tear and/or rip paper. I used a dictionnary page ,a  music sheet and a paper from Glitz design as the background. I stamped with stamps from Hero art, Dylusion and Hampton art stamps ( Art washes away from the soul, the dust of everyday life).

Colours used - dylusion and Faber Castell PITT.

...AND I enter the challenge at  the craft barn - letter A. The chosen word, of course is ART.

I hope all of you had a good saturday - 4th of may - the scrapbook day!!!

the letter W with circles

Hello again!

The craft barns alpha challenge is still one of my favorites to join right now. This time we have the letter W to work with and we have to use some kind of circle on the page as well.

Creating this water page , I used dylusion and distress inks, stencils from sodalicious and the crafters workshop. I added my beloved gesso with modelling paste and the stencils are from paperartsy and art journey.

the letter R for the craft barn - finally!

Busy, busy, busy...busy with all those things called family, work, cooking, education, friends...
I am very happy to be able to say that I have all those things in my life, but my crafty time is suffering after a week with family in Sweden, to catch up at work and, and, and...

BUT, here we are -  I finally finished my art journal page for the craft barn's alpha/dictionary challenge letter R.

the letter P for the craft barn

This is my entry to the craft barns alpha challenge - letter P = "pose".

I made the background last weekend attending Nathalie Kalbachs workshops here in Luxemburg; We had a great time with Nathalie, trying different of her techniques with PanPastels and acrylics. Then finishing of the weekend creating a canvas.

I used stamps from paperArtsy and Unitystamps.

Today (even yesterday) winter retuned AGAIN!  We all long for better temperatures and spring feelings ...

the letter M(e) for the craft barn

This is my page for the new challenge over at the craft barn.
This time we should use the letter M and I chose the word "measure".
The background is layered acrylics and the stamps cherry pie art stamps, inkado, creavil, denim and infocrea. Otherwise I used felt letters and a lot of different washi tapes.

Letter H

Hello again! Sunday and here we go...

This is my entry to the craft barns alpha challenge letter H.

Using the dylusion ink spray again. The "bleeding" heart is made with modelling paste and the small hearts are from Tim Holtz. The stamp is from My Stamp Box.

Sooo - my letter H = hearts.

the last calendar card for the craft barn

Finally! I did it! ...and I loved it.
To be honest, it was difficult to keep going those last couple of weeks, but here we are!!!

This last card should have something embossed according to the theme at the craft barn.

I used one of Tim Holtz' christmas embossing folders and then colored my card with distress inks. On my doily I stamped two hearts(Panduro) and embossed with christmas red to add the right colour. The bakers twine is a symbol of christmas wrapping and the stickers are just details to show how much we all would like some frosty temperatures instead of this horrid rain...

So, ladies, this is my last calendar card - I sure enjoyed the challenges and I hope to join in again next year!

Circles on my calendar card no 11

First of all - I'M SO SORRY for the bad photo. December is a "dark" month and we miss the light. Early afternoon and still no brightness. Just felt that I had to post it anyway, because tomorrow the next theme is due at the craft barn.

The theme this week was "circles".

I used my funky circles from Provocraft and I embossed the circles with an animal print from Cuttlebug and then coloured them with a distress ink.
