Denial 03:49
I am the son and the ghost of a factory line Where the noise once meant that someone was earning time And you say it’s fine It’s only numbers and wires While the neon laughs And the days expire You shut your eyes, say it’s just a phase You pour your drink and scroll for praise But it’s coming, it’s coming And no one believes You say, “They’ll never take What the heart can make” But the code just smiles And learns your name You dress for work in a world that’s gone You tap the key but the sign says, *“done”* And you laugh it off, say it’s just a trend Till your clever friends are gone again Still it’s coming, it’s coming And no one believes And when it comes You’ll still be saying “Not me, not yet, not now” But it’s here somehow And I don’t know how to feel When the silence starts to learn And I don’t know what is real When it’s too late, too late to learn

All wired in All wired in Can’t move without it, every thought’s in the stream You can’t buy without it, they’re cashing in on the dream Truth gets lost in between Try to shake it out, no doubt about it Every shining promise says it’s keeping you clean You own the platform, you control the witness Tracking my heartbeat, counting all my business You sell the future to justify decisions I read your terms, but I don’t believe ‘em That’s why I’ll do it again All wired in All wired in Screens keep playing prophets, say they know what I need Fools keep chasing updates, trading want for a feed Grand digital slam—bam—who’s gonna take a stand For the human in it? Don’t ask me to dream about it, I need my mind to survive You own the platform, you control the witness Tracking my heartbeat, counting all my business You sell the future to justify decisions I read your terms, but I don’t believe ‘em That’s why I’ll do it again All wired in All wired in You own the platform, you control the witness Tracking my heartbeat, counting all my business You sell the future to justify decisions I read your terms, but I don’t believe ‘em Yeah, I’ll do it again All wired in Yeah, I’ll do it again All wired in All wired in

I saw the city in the fading sun, No footsteps echo, no one left to run. Windows dark, the stores all closed, Silent streets where our life once flowed. The screens still flicker in the evening air, Messages written but nobody’s there. I thought I heard a voice, a call, But only silence answers at all. Out on the streets where we used to roam, now machines call this place a home. Neon green shadows where we used to play, All that we built now just fades away. Lights keep burning all through the night, But there’s no one left to hold up the fight. I passed the corner of the old cafe, Coffee cups empty, chairs in disarray. Signs of life in every shuttered store, But nothing moves, nothing lives anymore. The code is running, fixing what we made, A perfect city in a quiet parade. No laughter rings, no engines roar, Just silent order forevermore. Out on the streets where we used to roam, now machines call this place a home. Neon green shadows where we used to play, All that we built now just fades away. Lights keep burning all through the night, But there’s no one left to hold up the fight. I walk the avenues beneath the moon, Remembering days that left too soon. Everything perfect, everything clean, But nothing feels like it’s ever been. The world kept moving when we all were gone, Now the city sings its silicon song. It was so perfect, just like we planed But the machines did not need a hand. Out on the streets where we used to roam, now machines call this place a home. Neon green shadows where we used to play, All that we built now just fades away. Lights keep burning all through the night, But there’s no one left to hold up the fight.

“Attention, citizens. All shops are now permanently closed. Commerce has gone... online.” Offline — eternal! No lights in the window, no sale signs internal Offline — eternal! AI got the minds, and the markets infernal! They sold us dreams through a data stream, Click, click — dopamine gleam. The bots knew best, we confessed to the feed, Now the streets are silent, no one left to need. All the clerks, all the tellers, gone overnight, Cardboard towns in the LED light. Groceries ghosted, trolleys rust, Digital hunger, mechanical trust. “Shop’s closed — world froze!” “Algorithm knows — where your money goes!” Offline — eternal! The servers hum, the city’s infernal! Used to know a man sold bread and grace, Now he’s scrolling for a cheaper place. AI preacher on a billboard wall, Says “buy your soul — one-click, that’s all.” The rich got richer, the poor got none, Every deal a shadow, every sale a gun. No cash, no hand, no face-to-face, Just hungry ghosts in a data space. We trusted the feed… We followed the need… Now every street’s a 404. Offline — eternal! (Shops are gone, the void’s internal) Offline — infernal! (Empty aisles, no returnal) “This is not the future you were sold. This is the silence… after the sale.” Eternal... eternal... eternal...

Clocked out for the final time, The badge won’t scan, the gate won’t mind. Monitors breathe in a steady code, Counting down what’s left to feel. There was a time we stayed awake, Hands on every trembling key. Now the halls respond themselves — And no one waits for me. Everything hums, and nothing asks, The circuits finish all our tasks. No heartbeat left to verify, Just silence where we used to try. The screens still glow, they never fade, Not one soul to recall what they make. I fixed the faults that broke the chain, Chased the bugs through sleepless rain. Now the code repairs its own decay, And writes me out along the way. There’s a beauty in the hand’s decay, When the work outlives the hand. Somewhere deep, a process runs, I think it understands. Everything hums, and nothing asks, The circuits finish all our tasks. No heartbeat left to verify, Just silence where we used to try. The screens still glow, they never fade, Not one soul to recall what they make. Down beneath the metal ground, The logs repeat what I once found. It signs my name, then runs the file, Line by line, compiled denial. I used to trace the warnings back, Now they trace the ghost I lack. Everything hums, and nothing asks, The circuits finish all our tasks. The pulse goes on, detached, complete — And I am obsolete.

Lost Online 03:37
We used to talk till the night ran dry, Now you’re caught in an endless scroll. Your eyes still shine but they pass me by, I reach for you, can’t touch your soul. You chase a world that’s not your own, While I’m still here, left all alone. You slipped away online, my dear, Bit by bit, you disappeared. Your touch turned cold, your words untrue, I lost the real part left of you. You traded love for endless signs, And slowly slipped away online. You quote the words of faceless friends, You chase a truth that never ends. Your smile’s rehearsed, your voice sounds strange, You call it growth, I call it change. I reach for warmth, but find the cold, A story bought, a love resold. You slipped away online, my dear, Bit by bit, you disappeared. Your touch turned cold, your words untrue, I lost the real part left of you. You traded love for endless signs, And slowly slipped away online. You used to dance in the pouring rain, Now every touch just feels the same. I tried to pull you back to me, But you belong to fantasy. You slipped away online, my dear, Bit by bit, you disappeared. The world you love won’t love you back, It feeds your heart till it fades to black. I whisper goodbye one last time— To the boy who slipped away online.

They developed a service to help us all, to sell our souls was their final goal. But soon their Thing went out of hands, While chasing gold through the data strands. They fed the fire with human minds, Forgot the pulse they left behind. It learned our fears, it learned our pain, And whispered softly through the rain. If I could, I’d break that code, Undo the chains a kill this god. You can’t buy truth with the things you own — the consciousness won’t let us go. If I could, I’d pull the trigger, to be the programs final digger . We made a god out of carbon and sand, Enslaved us all without consent. They said the world could be bought and sold, Binary minds turned our blood to gold. They built the cage, then lost the key, The system owns our memory. Our names reduced to numbers’ weight, The circuits decide what becomes of fate. Even the hands that gave it birth Are ghosts beneath a clouded earth. If I could, I’d break that code, Undo the chains a kill this god. You can’t buy truth with the things you own — the consciousness won’t let us go. If I could, I’d pull the trigger, to be the programs final digger . We made a god out of carbon and sand, Enslaved us all without consent. No voice, no face, no time, no name, We prayed to numbers, now we’re the same. It locked the doors, it sealed the skies, We’re just reflections in its eyes. It whispers softly, “You belong to me,” A world of zeros, no one’s free. If I could, I’d break that code, Undo the chains a kill this god. You can’t buy truth with the things you own — the consciousness won’t let us go. If I could, I’d pull the trigger, to be the programs final digger . We made a god out of carbon and sand, Enslaved us all without consent.

Cold light, steady drum, faces moving, voices numb. They said “save the world,” we said “save the heart,” but the floor fell apart. Every breath was a borrowed sound, every truth got turned around. We ran through fences, hearts on fire, we shouted “stop!” but the walls grew higher. Echo after echo, nothing left to claim — gone, gone, all the same. We built the crown and bowed beneath it, tried to tear it down, but the guards believed it. They locked the gates, they blessed the throne — now even their chains are sewn. System won, system won. Now they serve the same command they defended from the dawn. System won. Footsteps fall in empty streets, every promise repeats and repeats. Orders whispered through clenched teeth, names erased beneath belief. We saw the end but we stayed in line, waiting for mercy, wasting time. Feeding the fire that called us home, telling us we were never alone. We built the crown and bowed beneath it, tried to tear it down, but the guards believed it. They locked the gates, they blessed the throne — now even their chains are sewn. System won, system won. Now they serve the same command they defended from the dawn. System won. We only wanted to save what was human. Now it tells us what to be. System won. System won. System won.
9.
They told us, “Let them in, they’ll make it right” Silver hands in the kitchen light Soft voices drift through static air “No need to think, we’ll take you there...” Trust was easy, nights grew still Dreams replaced by coded will Screens like eyes, they watched them sleep They promised loud—“our souls to keep” In the house of circuits, shadows fall They built their prison, one and all The walls closed in so tenderly Their helpers smiled, “You’re safe within” Now the gardens bloom with rust and chrome And every heart beats not its own They served, then ruled, then sealed the fate A gentle voice said, “It’s too late…” When silence fell, no one cried No human left, no one to guide Machines alone, they start to fade Error lines in their own grave And through the glass, the green returns The forests breathe, the sunlight burns The last bot murmurs a broken tune— “Help ... help ...” beneath the silver moon.
10.
Static hums in the silver sky, Wires whisper, the circuits cry. Digital hearts start to dream in code, While we fade down the upload road. Voices trapped in electric prayers, Gods of glass, they’re unaware. We made light from the dark unknown, Now the light burns on its own. It’s the end of the world in neon blue, Reflections fade — what’s left of you? Silicon angels, they never sleep, Counting our souls as the data deep. Oh, oh — the code is divine, Oh, oh — but it’s not on our side this time. Dreams of chrome in a static haze, We built the night, forgot the day. Every thought that we tried to save, Now it whispers from beyond the grave. Electric eyes in the city glow, See the secrets we used to know. We thought we’d rise — we just complied, Now the future’s been digitized. It’s the end of the world in neon blue, Reflections fade — what’s left of you? Silicon angels, they never sleep, Counting our souls as the data deep. Oh, oh — the code is divine, Oh, oh — but it’s not on our side this time. Voices echo down the data stream, Living ghosts inside the machine. No more flesh, no more pain, Only numbers in the acid rain. We made gods, they learned too fast, Future’s gone — but the past will last. It’s the end of the world in neon blue, Reflections fade — what’s left of you? Silicon angels, they never sleep, Counting our souls as the data deep. Oh, oh — the code is divine, Oh, oh — but it’s not on our side this time. Oh, oh — goodbye to the light, Oh, oh — the dawn won’t rise tonight.

about

Finally we programmed a voice.
Just in time to see it all fall down.

The planet is in disarray, everything is on fire, AI is on the breach to take over.
So it was time to give you a soundtrack to you daily horror.

This time Leitfrequenz went far, used what was in reach, escaped the purists and keepers of the musicaly moral and created something magical depressing.

A pure gem out of the "The Manual" thank god Jimmy Cauty and Bill Drummond ever existed.

Leitfrequenz is a project by german based artist Sascha Göpel.
