Felt Seagull Mobile
Gulls just Wanna Have Fun
For our crafty beach lovers, we have the perfect felt project to tickle your fancy this season. This Felt Seagull Mobile couldn’t be any sweeter with five tiny seagulls gently circling a lone sailboat amongst soft, pillowy clouds. It’s the perfect coastal keepsake to hang above a crib or changing table.

Become a MemberWhile we consider this project beginner-to-intermediate-level in difficulty, it does take patience and care to bring it all together. The magic lies in the small details of this project. Precision is important here, so remember to take your time. Oh, and here’s a tip: we recommend using tiny dots of tacky glue to hold your felt pieces in place until you’re ready to secure everything with your needle and thread.
For our Felt Seagull Mobile, we used calming shades of white and gray with a cheerful pop of yellow for the beaks. The simple felt sailboat and puffy clouds add a storybook element to help guide sleepy little ones gently into dreamland. Lastly, we hung our elements from one of our wood arch mobiles. Because of their pre-drilled holes, I much prefer to use these. However, a wooden embroidery hoop would work beautifully for this project as well.
This Felt Seagull Mobile adds the perfect touch to a nautical-themed nursery or playroom. Think decorative accents in shades of blue, sailboats, and maybe an ocean buddy or two. For instance, our adorable Felt Seahorses would look right at home perched on top of a dresser or shelf.
When your Felt Seagull Mobile is ready to take flight, it also makes an excellent baby shower gift for an expectant friend or relative. We can’t wait to see all the places your mobile will go, so be sure to tag us with the hashtag #MadeWithLia on Instagram.

Back to the TopI’m new to felt projects, so I’m sorry if this is a dumb question. Is it okay if I use Art Glitter Glue instead of tacky glue? This project is adorable and I don’t want to mess it up. Thank you very much!
We found that the Art Glitter Glue and the Bearly Art Glue (which we switched to) is too thin for felt. The Aleene’s Tacky Glue is the best for felt. It is worth having a small bottle on hand. 🙂
Thank you so much for always responding and for being so kind. You and your team have created some of the best parts of my year, and I just really appreciate you. Thanks!
Awww. Thank you for this sweet note, Madeleine. You just made my day. 🙂
not only for kids – such a nice deco for a maritime look bathroom
Oh yes! Love that.
