Managing Partner
DSJ Advisory Group
DSJ Advisory Group Managing Partner Bob Jahelka has always had a natural ability to connect with people. Although accounting might appear to focus solely on numbers, Jahelka understands it’s much more personal. “At DSJ, our priority is meeting client needs with the utmost diligence,” Jahelka said. “Our vision is to deliver expert guidance and operational efficiency, all while offering unparalleled client service.” For Jahelka, being a trusted advisor means cultivating strong, personal relationships.
Jahelka’s drive for success started early. A standout student-athlete at Long Island University-Post (class of 1984), he was a dual-sport competitor, serving as a four-year starter and two-year captain in both football and lacrosse. Jahelka was named a CoSIDA First Team National Academic All-American and recipient of the Dean Roy Illowit Award, honoring student-athletes who exemplify academic excellence, sportsmanship and integrity.
After beginning his career at the Big Eight firm Touche Ross & Co. (now Deloitte), Jahelka embarked on an entrepreneurial journey. He founded both a service company and an accounting firm, which operated out of the same Garden City building. He eventually sold the service company to concentrate fully on his accounting practice, Jahelka & Co. This business later merged with Demasco & Sena to form Demasco, Sena & Jahelka, which evolved into today’s DSJ Advisory Group.
Today, DSJ offers a full range of tax, accounting and advisory services, including nonprofit support, business consulting, tax preparation, forensic accounting and mergers and acquisitions advisory. While Jahelka enjoys working closely with clients, he’s equally committed to shaping the firm’s internal culture.
