Ground rods, also known as earthing or grounding rods, are grounding electrodes. Different conductive materials can be used to make the ground rod.
1. Solid Copper Ground Rods — Better corrosion resistance than the copper bonded type. A good choice for important and critical grounding projects. 2. Copper Bonded Ground Rods — Best cost-performance ratio. More widely utizlied for grounding system throughout the world. 3. Galvanized Rods — Cheapest, shortest in lifespan. Economic choice for short-term, temporary or non-critical grounding purpose. 4. Stainless Steel Rods — Best in corrosion resistance and service life. Highest in upfront cost. Better option for tough climate and soil conditions.
