Tropically Green Smoothie

I have been forever making smoothies.  When my daughter was little, she did not like meat.  A whole period of time where she just wouldn't eat it.  So I would make her smoothies with Silken tofu in it.  She drank those up- no problem.  Now, it is a thing. Totally trendy.  Smoothies everywhere, with all kinds of ingredients that I would have never thought to put in her smoothie at the time- wish I knew- I totally would have.  In fact, I totally would have made this one.  Love it!  Thought I would taste the spinach. Not at all.

Banana Matcha Milkshake

Note how the straw stands on its own.
This is delish.  My kids were a bit skeptical about that green stuff I was throwing in there.  Goodness gracious, not the dreaded green stuff!  But then I told them it is like their beloved Green Tea Mints from Trader Joes and then all was right with the world again.

The smoothies, milkshakes, whatever you want to call them, were gone in like 30 seconds flat.  Okay, honestly... five minutes max.  Mine was the one finished in 30 seconds, ahem.

The idea for this smoothie came from this site called, Kleinworth and Company.  I changed it up a bit because it way too thick- thick, as in I would never get it smooth because of my blender.

Banana Matcha Milkshake

2 1/2 cups of 2% milk
3 frozen bananas
2 teaspoons Matcha
3/4 cup chopped pineapple

Slice 3 bananas and freeze them at least 30 minutes.

Blend all ingredients together.  If you are like me and have a 25 dollar blender, you will have to keep sticking the handle of a wooden spoon down in there and mix it around from time to time (of course, with the motor stopped).  This is one thick shake. Don't be annoyed by this, it is totally worth it.

Under The Palms

Oh, baby.  Have it anyway you like, this is delicious.  Choice A non alcoholic, choice B alcoholic.  This drink is delicious.  My daughter and I were totally wowed.

Yeah, here it is, 3:30 in the afternoon and I just enjoyed one of these.  It all started this morning when I was coming up with ways to get my daughter to drink the remainder of the mango juice.  Straight up, it just wasn't happening.  So I threw it in a blender and added some pineapple juice.  My intention was to copy Mc Donalds new smoothie.  Yuck, didn't like what I had come up with.  I added some cream- doesn't that make everything taste delicious anyhow.  After that I thought it needed something to round it out.  Oh yes, I have a stash of frozen bananas in my freezer for my soft ice cream I usually make with it.  Threw some of those in there.  We inhaled the drink. Then in the afternoon I asked her if she would like another one of those smoothies.  Yup.  After lunch there was a little left and I saw the Veev laying on the counter.  Hmmm, I wonder how that would be.  Mixed it in, chilled it.  Returned from my doctors appointment and wow was that ever good.  Had to share it with you.
