Rational Numbers

Rational Numbers are those numbers which can be expressed in the form of p/q, where p and q are integers and q is not 0. Examples- 1, 23/8, 0, -66/82, 795/-3. Pi, is not a Rational Number. We might argue that Pi is 22/7, and hence is a rational number. But we must know that 22/7 is just an approximation, and never accurate. It differs from fractions as they represent a part of a whole, but rational numbers might even be more than a whole. ...

Pythagoras Theorem

Pythagoras Theorem is one of Maths most enjoyable theories. This theorem is used when we have to find the Hypotenuse ( the opposite side of the base and altitude of a right angle triangle [ see image ]). This only works when one angle is 90 degrees or right angled. The formula states that the sum of the base squared and the altitude squared is equal to the hypotenuse squared! If we wrote this as a mathematical formula, it would be : a2 + b2 = c2, where a is the base, b is the altitude and ...
