Letting Go of Daddy

I'm letting go of Daddy til tomorrow
The Moon says that it's time he went to bed
There's other things I wish to do this evening
That don't need to bother Daddy's pretty head.
All the other kids at school love Daddy
They like it when I try to act like him
But I'm letting go of Daddy til tomorrow
So that I can make a different kind of friend.
Because it's hard being Daddy in the daytime
With a wounded world so weary for a kiss
All the children are so eager for a Daddy
Taught to crave a thing that doesn't quite exist...
So I'm letting go of Daddy til tomorrow
I'm putting Daddy back up on the shelf
I'm gone to spend some time with my Mother
The Moon, and Myself
The Moon, and Myself,
The Moon.
