This is an excellent little resource for the language. A great text to accompany Purely Functional Data Structures.

These notes are the basis of my short course at the ANU Logic Summer School 2025. / These lectures introduce theorem proving using the proof assistant Isabelle. Isabelle supports many logics, but by far the most popular is Higher Order Logic, the focus of these notes.

Very nice, albeit quite terse. Definitely need to have a computer in hand while working through the exercises.

This graphic novel follows Caitlin Cook, who is asexual but does not yet fully realize it. From evangelical purity politics to the footloose college campus, Caitlin navigates different worlds each with their own sexual orthodoxies, and clumsily attempts to fit into each of them. A thoughtful and immersive coming-of-age memoir about one girl’s struggle to figure out and then claim her asexual identity.

An absolutely lovely novel.

Principia Softwarica is a series of books explaining how things work in a computer by describing with full details all the source code of all the essential programs used by a programmer. All the programs come from Plan 9 from Bell Labs, an operating system designed as the successor to Unix whose code is remarkably elegant and small.

I used to be a sex writer. I wrote about feminism and gender, too, but really what I found most interesting was sexuality, and sexual identity. I wrote under the name Clarisse Thorn. I had a blog. The blog got semi-famous. I traveled and gave talks. I published some books. Sometimes people still read and buy the books.

Start Doing Graph Theory is an introductory textbook about using graph theory to solve puzzles, prove theorems, and everything in between.

Found this in Industry City’s bookstore. A nice read about the trans Filipina experience modulo the occasional typo and kinda loose overall structure. I blame the author’s editor.

WEDEL: There’s a great saying, that everyone is born with 1000 bad drawings inside them. You get to the good drawings — you get to be good at drawing — by exorcising the 1000 bad drawings. “I can’t draw” is just a shorter way of saying, “I’m unwilling to practice drawing.” (That probably sounds pretty strident. If you don’t want to be good at drawing, that’s fine. The world is big, full, and busy, and not everyone has to be interested in every possible thing. Just don’t mistake “I can’t draw” for a good reason not to try.)
