I came up with these little spinning doodads a few years ago around Christmas, and I haven’t seen anything like them online, so I’m writing about them here as they are quite fun to make. I’ve just been calling these things “can spinners” (ChatGPT suggested “twirluminum”).

I haven’t published since April because I’ve been afraid. I also avoided social media, news aggregators, and discussion forums for months. I’m done letting fear stop me. What was I afraid of? In this post I detail every single thing I’ve avoided admitting on this blog.
I think the main reason is that big companies are full of engineers working outside their area of expertise.
