I got convinced (by into going to the actual beach today for boardgames but then the most fun part of this overall pretty awful day ended up being the actual swimming in the water part of it. The actual games part, not so much, and even less so the hunting for tables.

Yesterday with Scapa I had the opposite experience. Like me she enjoys just sitting on a blanket on a patch of grass, so the boardgame part was super easy, barely an inconvenience (she defeated me in Meridians 1–0, then we didn’t finish a second game but I probably woulda won that one but I know that that’s easier said than done. She took a photo so maybe we can finish it). But there she texted me while I was heading out to meet her that we were gonna hang out by the beach and by then it was too late to bring bathing clothes, towels etc. Why do I even have a phone 🤦🏻‍♀️
