If you take a look at the first boss of The Royal City of Rabanastre, you can see that it’s composed of a vaguely insect-y exoskeleton and a restrained female figure, blindfolded with her hands bound over her head and her legs enveloped from mid-thigh on down. The dialogue in the fight seems to indicate that the exoskeleton is a sapient creature, as it briefly sets free the captive woman (during the ice skating mechanic) and gives her orders.

Would love to see some speculation on who or what the ice goddess was before she was captured and imprisoned by Mateus, and also how that capture came about. Was she tricked, forced, or did she enter into this situation more-or-less willingly? Is there a part of her that still resists her captivity, or is she totally loyal to/subservient to/hypnotized by Mateus at this point? Why does she wriggle around so much in her bonds during the boss fight? (wink wink)

The Ascians win and keep the Scions imprisoned as their prizes. Any pairing, any time period depending on which characters you want to have involved. Feel free to involve the twins/Ryne/Lalafells if you want, but please don’t get too in-depth about how young/small they are.
