Interesting compromise.

FairEmail will send the Autocrypt header for use by other email clients, but only for signed and encrypted messages because too many email servers have problems with the often long Autocrypt header.

Article from ten years ago about how it’s a li’l iffy to trust web apps for encryption.

Do programs in the browser represent the interests of the user? According to Commander Douglas Crockford (image at the top of this post) the answer is a resounding NO. This is not the traditional threat model of the browser.

Seems to me that Mailvelope is one of the easier ways to get with the program for users of Hotmail or Google Mail on desktop web. 🤷🏻‍♀️
