ORCID is a free, unique, 16-digit persistent identifier (PID) for individuals to use as they engage in research, scholarship, and innovation activities. ORCID is provided to researchers free of charge. ORCID record (sometimes called a profile) stores automatic links to person’s research, and links all research to the person.
