Turnitin invites instructors to attend their upcoming webinars. All registrants will receive follow-up materials, so please register even if you cannot attend live.

Clarity, Composition, and Citations - Canvas Workflow

Clarity (aka “Student Writing”) is available through UF’s Turnitin license and is currently in the second year of the Pilot (UF Clarity Pilot Resource Hub). It generates a post-submission “Writing Report” that plays back the student’s writing process and flags points worth a closer look. Each session will introduce the Clarity workflow, review best practices, and help instructors prepare to use this tool.

Turnitin Feedback Studio: New Features and What is Coming Next

There’s a new Turnitin LTI 1.3 integration (aka External Tool). This is a full-featured interface which includes the similarity report from their Feedback Studio as well as other features. Join this special session to learn about updates to the Feedback Studio including multi-part assignments, SpeedGrader support, QuickMarks, rubrics, and more.

Gradescope, available through UF's institutional license, helps instructors manage and grade paper, digital, coding, and open-response assessments more efficiently while providing consistent feedback and meaningful insights into student learning. Join an upcoming session with the vendor to learn more:

You can also learn more by watching this brief 2-minute video or by visiting the UF Gradescope support page.

Starting on June 3, 2026, all newly created surveys will automatically default to the New Survey Taking Experience (NSTE). Qualtrics is  making this change because NSTE is their modernized survey design. It is built to be faster, more mobile-responsive, and highly accessible. Any new features (e.g. new question types, security options) will only be supported on NSTE going forward.

Existing live surveys will not be affected or visually altered. Copying an old survey or importing a QSF file will preserve the original layout and theme settings, meaning a copy of a Legacy survey will remain Legacy.

A recent security update to Respondus 4.0 quiz creation software affected how the tool connects to Canvas. The issue has been resolved, but instructors will need to update their settings before publishing or retrieving quizzes in Canvas using Respondus 4.0. This does not apply to normal Classic or New Quizzes published in courses and only applies to those using Respondus 4.0 quiz creation software.

Please follow these steps the next time you use Respondus 4:

  1. Open Respondus 4 and open the assessment you want to publish
  2. Go to the Preview & Publish tab
  3. Select Publish Wizard
  4. Choose New Quiz or Classic Quizzes
  5. From the server dropdown, select Add new server
  6. Select Yes, check for preconfigured settings
  7. When prompted, enter a new name for the server (do not reuse a previous name)
  8. Complete the publish process and log in through the Canvas web prompt when prompted

These steps only need to be completed once to re-establish your connection to Canvas.

If you prefer not to reconfigure Respondus, you can also follow the steps in Manual Import of Respondus 4 files into Instructure Canvas and Retrieving questions from Canvas Classic Quizzes.
