Setting the Standard for Embedded UI
Trusted by developers, chosen by chipmakers, and powering millions of devices worldwide, LVGL is becoming the driving force for embedded UI.
The Company Behind LVGL
LVGL Ltd is the company behind the LVGL ecosystem — including the open-source LVGL library, LVGL Pro, and LVGL Safe.
LVGL began as an open-source graphics library and is evolving into a complete embedded UI platform used across consumer electronics, industrial systems, wearables, automotive, and safety-critical devices.
The core LVGL library remains MIT licensed, open-source, and community-driven. Alongside it, LVGL Ltd develops commercial tools, runtime technologies, enterprise support, and safety-critical solutions that help companies build scalable embedded products while supporting the long-term sustainability of the ecosystem.

Core Values
Lightness
We keep things light—both in code and in spirit. A bloated codebase slows development, just as a heavy mindset weighs down creativity and well-being.
Progress
We share ideas early to gather feedback and refine our approach. Iteration, learning, and small consistent steps lead to big achievements.
Openness
We work in the open. Discussing ideas and asking questions openly helps everyone get on the same page and learn from each other.
Trust
We trust that everyone acts with the best intentions, makes thoughtful decisions, and supports our mutual vision.
Almost a Decade in the Making
What started as a side project in 2016 has grown into the most widely adopted open-source UI framework for embedded systems. Unlike legacy solutions adapted from desktop frameworks, LVGL was designed for embedded from day one—lightweight, flexible, and efficient.
Today, LVGL powers millions of devices worldwide, becoming the preferred choice for embedded UI in IoT, medical devices, automotive, and smart wearables. As embedded UI development shifts away from bloated, legacy frameworks, LVGL is emerging as the new standard—lean, efficient, and built for the future.

André Costa
Team Lead - LVGL Open
I'm an embedded engineer who loves working with open source. I help maintain LVGL, which means I get to spend my days building tools that make life easier for other developers. I really enjoy supporting other engineers and being part of a community where ideas and improvements flow both ways. On top of that, the wide scope of the project keeps things interesting. There's a little bit of everything, so it never gets boring. When I'm not coding, I like to stay active and exercise to keep my mind sharp.
