General information

We take the protection of your personal data seriously and process your data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Austrian data protection laws.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and what rights you have regarding your personal data.

Website access and server logs

When you access this website, our servers automatically process certain technical information that your browser transmits with each request. This applies both to the web server that delivers the pages and to our API, which handles the waitlist and feature-voting requests described below.

This information may include:

These data are processed solely to operate this website securely and reliably, to detect and resolve technical issues, and to prevent misuse. In particular, your IP address is processed on a short-term basis to enforce rate limits that protect our forms and API against automated abuse.

Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and reliable operation of our website).

This processing happens on our own servers and does not depend on your cookie choice.

Hosting

This website and its backend (application and database) are hosted by:

Hetzner Online GmbH
Industriestraße 25
91710 Gunzenhausen
Germany

Hetzner processes personal data on our behalf solely for the purpose of providing the hosting infrastructure required to operate this website. A data processing agreement has been concluded in accordance with Article 28 GDPR.

Waitlist

If you sign up for our waitlist, we process the information you provide in the sign-up form.

Feature voting

Our site lets you upvote upcoming features to signal your interest.

When you upvote a feature, no personal data is collected. Only an anonymous, aggregate vote count is increased on our server. We do not store your IP address, an identifier, or any other personal data in connection with your vote.

To prevent accidental double-voting, your browser records that you have voted using a local storage entry (see “Cookies and local storage”). This information stays in your browser and is never transmitted to us.

When you first visit this website, a banner asks whether you consent to analytics cookies. Nothing optional is loaded before you decide. If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are set and no data about your visit is sent to Google.

To record and manage that choice, we use Cookiebot, a consent management platform provided by:

Cybot A/S
Havnegade 39
1058 Copenhagen
Denmark

Cybot is part of the Usercentrics group (Usercentrics GmbH, Munich, Germany) and acts as our processor under a data processing agreement pursuant to Article 28 GDPR. Its servers are located within the European Union.

Changing your mind. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page. Withdrawal is as simple as giving consent, takes effect immediately, and does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.

Web analytics (Google Analytics 4)

Only if you have consented, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use this website — which pages are read, which sources refer traffic, and which content leads to a waitlist sign-up. We use this to decide what to write and build next.

The service is provided to us by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, acting as our processor under Google’s data processing terms.

How we have configured it. These settings are part of the basis on which we ask for your consent, not optional extras:

Opting out. Use the “Cookie settings” link in the footer at any time. You can also install Google’s browser opt-out add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Cookies and local storage

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. Under § 165 Abs 3 TKG 2021, we may only store information on your device, or read information from it, with your prior consent — unless it is strictly necessary to provide a service you have explicitly requested.

These entries are stored only in your browser, are never transmitted to us or to anyone else, and can be deleted at any time via your browser settings. Each exists solely to deliver a function you actively used:

These entries do not contain personal data and are not used for analytics, tracking, profiling, or advertising.

Advertising and social media

We set no advertising or retargeting cookies, and we embed no social media buttons, share widgets, or third-party video players.

A live, automatically generated cookie declaration — produced by our consent manager from a scan of this site — appears at the end of this page. The tables above remain the authoritative description, since the generated declaration lists names and expiry times but not the lawful basis, processor, or transfer mechanism for each entry.

Automated decision-making

We do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR on this website.

Contact by email

If you contact us by email, we process the personal data you voluntarily provide (such as your name, email address, and the content of your message) solely to respond to your inquiry. Our mailboxes are hosted by an email provider located in the European Union, which acts as a processor on our behalf.

Legal basis:

The contents of your email are not shared with third parties unless required by law.

External services

Apart from the consent banner described under “Your cookie choice” and — subject to your consent — the analytics service described under “Web analytics”, this website uses no external services or third-party resources. We embed no advertising networks, no videos, no social media plugins and no third-party content delivery networks. The fonts used on this site are hosted on our own servers.

Data retention

Personal data will only be retained for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Privacy Policy or to comply with applicable legal obligations.

Data recipients

We operate our own application and database, so your personal data is not routinely disclosed to third parties. Besides our hosting provider, the recipients are:

RecipientRoleLocation
Hetzner Online GmbHHosting of this website, our API and our databaseGermany
Cybot A/S (Usercentrics group)Consent managementDenmark / Germany
Google Ireland LimitedWeb analytics — only if you consentIreland, with onward processing by Google LLC in the United States

Each acts as a processor on our behalf under a data processing agreement pursuant to Article 28 GDPR.

Apart from these, personal data will not be disclosed to third parties unless:

International data transfers

If — and only if — you consent to analytics, personal data is transferred to the United States, where Google LLC processes it on behalf of Google Ireland Limited. This is the only processing described in this policy that leaves the European Economic Area. Everything else stays within the EU: hosting in Germany, consent management in Denmark and Germany, and email with an EU-based provider.

This transfer is based on Article 45 GDPR: the European Commission decided on 10 July 2023 that the EU-US Data Privacy Framework provides an adequate level of protection, and Google LLC is a certified participant in that framework. Google’s Standard Contractual Clauses apply in addition as a fallback.

You should know that United States law can, in certain circumstances, oblige providers there to disclose data to public authorities. The Data Privacy Framework was created to address this and provides EU residents with a redress mechanism, which is the basis of the Commission’s adequacy decision. Should that decision be annulled or suspended, we will switch off Google Analytics rather than continue the transfer on other grounds.

If you would prefer that no data about you leaves the EU, simply decline analytics cookies — the site works exactly the same without them.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the contact details provided above. For analytics specifically, the quickest route is the “Cookie settings” link in the footer, which takes effect immediately.

Please note that analytics data identifies you only by a random identifier held in your own browser. We hold no link between that identifier and your name or email address, and we will not try to re-identify you in order to answer a request (Article 11 GDPR). If you want us to act on analytics data specifically, you would need to supply that identifier from your browser.

Right to lodge a complaint

If you believe that the processing of your personal data violates applicable data protection law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.

For Austria, this is:

Austrian Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde)
Barichgasse 40–42
1030 Vienna
Austria

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy where necessary to reflect changes in legal requirements or changes to this website. The version published on this page is always the current version.

Automatically generated by our consent manager from a scan of this site. If it does not appear, your browser is blocking it — the written tables above remain the authoritative description.
