Dominique Therese Kruse was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. She attended the University of Colorado, Boulder and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication.

She was introduced to the entertainment industry her junior year of college where she originally interviewed to be an intern for the Manga publishing company TOKYOPOP. However her passion for Japanese pop culture and her ability to host events ended her up as one 1 of 6 college students to host and be filmed on a nation-wide tour, for the company instead. The show America's Greatest Otaku aired in the Spring of 2011 on hulu.com as a web series. In the fall of 2011 she filmed E4's British reality show Sorority Girls, acting as one of five hosts/judges on the show and was cast as the Standards chair due to her prior television and sorority leadership experiences. The show aired in November of 2011 on E4. The show was later picked up in the U.S in 2012 and aired on TLC. It has also aired and is airing in several Asian and Middle Eastern countries. E4 is also re-airing the show on the channel now.
