Ashley Bratcher is an award-winning actress, writer, and producer whose work champions women's voices and stories of resilience. Her resume includes work in more than 20 roles, spanning network television to independent features. She first rose to prominence with her breakout performance in the box-office hit Unplanned (2019), a role that earned her a MovieGuide Award nomination for Most Inspirational Performance, alongside fellow nominees Academy Award winner Tom Hanks and BAFTA/Academy Award nominee Cynthia Erivo. She later received the Best Actress WIFTS International Visionary Award, joining the ranks of past honorees Gemma Arterton, Kelly Macdonald, and Romola Garai.
Beyond acting, Ashley is the founder of Simple Jane Films, a production company dedicated to highlighting the work of "ordinary women with extraordinary stories." She is currently producing a highly anticipated feature alongside Academy Award nominee and BAFTA-winning producer, Lisa Bruce (The Theory of Everything (2014), Darkest Hour (2017)), further cementing her place as a creative force both in front of and behind the camera.
Born and raised in a small town in eastern North Carolina, Ashley discovered her love for storytelling on stage at 16. Her second love- softball- earned her a scholarship to Mount Olive College, where she batted first in the lineup and held down shortstop before graduating with honors from Campbell University.
A natural competitor, Ashley's off-screen life is as bold as her roles. Once a competitive surfer, she now tests her grit on the Brazilian jiu-jitsu mat. And while her career has taken her from small-town stages to international film markets, she remains a Southern girl at heart- known for her fiery spirit, disarming charm, and unmistakable "magnolia mouth."
