Karen Avanesyan is a Soviet and Russian pop artist, comedian, parodist, actor, master of ceremonies. Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. Since childhood, he drew well, his father even saw him as a serious artist. He studied at a children's theater studio. His first role in the theater was the Beast in a play based on the fairy tale by Vadim Korostylyov 'King Pif-Paf, or about Ivan the Not a Giant'. Karen was especially good at parodies. He could copy almost any person in a humorous way. So, at school, he delighted his classmates by parodying teachers and the principal of the educational institution.
In 1978-1988 - artist of Azconcert. While still studying at the university, he began working in the show program 'Parade of Stars'. Karen entered the directing department of the Baku Institute of Arts, graduating in 1985. In 1986, he became a participant in the program "Parade of Parodists" in Moscow. Karen showed himself as a bright performer of parodies. He imitated voices talentedly and very accurately conveyed the characteristic behavioral traits of the parodied characters, giving them comic features.
In 1990-1998 he worked in the Masha Rasputina team. In those same years he worked as a master of ceremonies in solo concerts of Philipp Kirkorov, Valeriy Leontev, Aleksey Glyzin, Irina Ponarovskaya. Since the late 1990s, he has been performing monologues. A regular participant in many humorous TV programs. Actor of the Moscow Theater of Humor 'Crooked Mirror' under the direction of Evgeny Petrosyan.
He began acting at the Azerbaijanfilm studio in the mid-1980s. He appeared in the films Bäyin ogurlanmasi (1985) and Villain (1987) (1988).
