Mig Macario has appeared in over 50 Film and TV projects as well as numerous commercials and plays during the past 3 decades. He was part of the talented cast of Dan Gilroy's Velvet Buzzsaw with Jake Gyllenhaal, Toni Collette, Rene Russo, Daveed Diggs and Zawe Ashton on Netflix. Mig also played the iconic character of "Bashful" of the seven dwarfs on the hit series Once Upon a Time, co-starring with Ginnifer Goodwin, Lana Parilla and Robert Carlyle. Guest star and recurring credits include Ruby Herring Mysteries, S.W.A.T., Kidding and The Order. You may have also seen him in US National commercials for: Jollibee, Lexus, VW, E*TRADE, Uber Eats, and Tostitos.
Mr. Macario's training began at the Vancouver Youth Theater during his early teenage years and was part of the inaugural class of the Firehall Cross-Cultural Apprenticeship program. He has taken classes and workshops all over North America, including Upright Citizens Brigade, Jeffrey Marcus Studios, and David Rotenberg. Mig also had the honor of teaching at UCLA Extension as an on-camera acting instructor.
With his many years in the industry, Mig has also worked with Johnny Depp, Jenny McCarthy, and Robin Williams. Mr. Macario built his foundation in theater with the Vancouver Youth Theater, Axis Mime Theater, and toured Shakespeare with Manitoba Theater for Young People. He was nominated for a Jessie award for his portrayal of Song Liling in David Henry Hwang's Tony award-winning play, M. Butterfly.
Mig divides his time between Vancouver and Los Angeles and is a long-time practicing Buddhist with Soka Gakkai International, a community that promotes peace, culture, and education. Being fluent in Tagalog was vital while he volunteered in the Philippines following Typhoon Haiyan. He is also active in his community, most recently helping those affected by the LA Fires. His goals are to keep working as an actor creating value by telling unique stories that continue to authentically represent the AAPI and LGBTQ+ communities. He hopes to spend the rest of his life living near the beach with his friends and family.
