Bienert began her acting career in the early 1980s, making her breakthrough with a role in "Diamonds of Kilimandjaro" (1983), an adventure film that showcased her screen presence and marked the beginning of her professional journey in the entertainment industry. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, she appeared in various German and international productions, including "Lilian" (1984), where she was credited as Katia Bienert, demonstrating her adaptability across different film genres. Her filmography spans multiple decades and includes notable works such as "Dämonenbrut" (2000), "Killer Barbys vs. Dracula" (2002), and "Immer Vollmond" (2001), the latter being one of her most recognized performances. Beyond acting, Bienert expanded her creative repertoire to include directing and writing, establishing herself as a multi-faceted filmmaker. She has also made appearances in television productions, including the long-running German series "Police Call 110" (1998). Bienert was married to Donald Gardner from March 2020 until his death in November 2021, and she has a son, Alan Leon Daniel.
