Corrado Gaipa was born on 13 March 1925 in Palermo, Sicily, Italy. He was an actor, known for The Godfather (1972), Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977) and Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980). He died on 21 September 1989 in Rome, Lazio, Italy.

Trivia
His difficulty walking was incorporated into the character of Don Tommassino, even after he stopped playing the role. To accommodate his difficulty, the character was written as using a wheelchair for some scenes. The character continued to use a wheelchair in The Godfather Part III (1990). In The Godfather Part II (1974), Tommassino is shown being shot in the legs, explaining his subsequent use of the wheelchair.
