Master Manjunath, born Manjunath Nayaker, is an Indian actor-turned public-relations professional who first gained fame very early - he began acting at the age of three. What made him a household name was his portrayal of "Swami" in Malgudi Days, a beloved television series from the 1980s, a role so cherished that "Swami" remains synonymous with his name even decades later.
Over the course of his career, he appeared in roughly 68 films across Kannada, Hindi, and Telugu cinema, including noteworthy performances in films such as Agneepath (as the young Vijay Deenanath Chauhan), along with several well-regarded works in the Kannada film industry. After his early success as a child actor, he chose to step away from acting at 19 to focus on his education.
Academically, he holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Arts in Sociology, along with a diploma in cinematography. In later years, he transitioned into a career outside of films, first working in IT and publishing educational results online, and eventually founding his own liaison and PR consultancy.
On the personal front, he is married to athlete Swarnarekha, known for her achievements in sprinting and long jump.
