Born Hendon, Middlesex, London, England; youngest child and younger daughter of Henri Percheron and Jane Percheron (née Meale). Drama education at Cone-Ripman College. Stage debut, London, 1932, working mostly in the UK theatre until 1981. Began performing on radio, television and films in the mid-1940s, going through to the early 1960s, usually musical parts but some acting roles. "Betty Paul" stage name chosen 1944. Later began writing television dramas with her third husband, Peter Lambda and later still several stage and radio plays, a few radio features and lastly, two novels. No children. Resident of Tibberton, then Newent, Gloucestershire, England from 1987. Funeral, Crematorium, Gloucester, Gloucestershire, England, 4 March 2011.
