Laurent Tirard in Molière (2007)
Born in France in 1967, Laurent Tirard went to the US, to New York University, to study filmmaking and then became a script reader for the American company Warner Brothers.He returned to France to do journalism for the magazine Studio, during which time he interviewed 20 notable filmmakers which resulted in a book published in 2002. After leaving the magazine in 1997, Tirard wrote scripts, directed shorts, and then crossed over into feature length directing.

    He wrote and directed his first feature, The Story of My Life, in 2004, co-wrote the hugely successful Prête-moi ta main (How to Get Married and Stay Single) for Alain Chabat in 2005, then wrote and directed his second film, Molière, the following year. Molière was entered into the 29th Moscow International Film Festival.
