Barkha Madan is an Indian former model, beauty queen, actress, and film producer who has worked predominantly in Hindi and Punjabi language films, as well as television.Her entry into the spotlight began when she competed in the 1994 Miss India pageant, where she was named Miss Tourism India and subsequently finished as the third runner-up at the Miss Tourism International pageant in Malaysia.Madan made her Bollywood debut in the action film Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, and later gained widespread recognition for her role as the ghost Manjeet Khosla in Ram Gopal Varma's supernatural thriller Bhoot. She has also appeared in other films, including the Indo-Dutch co-production Driving Miss Palmen, Tera Mera Pyar, and Samay: When Time Strikes.On television, she was featured in about 20 shows, holding notable roles such as Rani Laxmibai in the historical series 1857 Kranti and Reva Sehgal in the popular daily soap Saat Phere - Saloni Ka Safar.Beyond acting, Madan established the production and distribution company Golden Gate LLC to promote independent cinema. Under this banner, she produced and starred in two critically acclaimed films, Soch Lo and Surkhaab, with the latter winning an award at the Canada International Film Festival.
