Manthan Thakkar is a multifaceted Indian actor, director, and writer known for his contributions to the Indian Film and Television Industry. His journey began in 2015 with a breakthrough appearance on the talent hunt show I'm The Best, where his performance gained widespread attention and his promo went viral across social media platforms.
Following his debut, Manthan ventured into television commercials and regional advertising, collaborating with brands like Modi Sandwich and Smart Advertising. After wrapping up I'm The Best, he expanded his creative footprint by joining the web series Aa Chhe Zindagi, where he served as both Production Manager and Assistant Director, while also appearing as an actor.
His versatility shone through in the drama SamayLeela, where he played the lead role of Raju, a farmer, in a story centered around the concept of timestamps. After these projects, Manthan took a brief hiatus and returned on World Theatre Day in 2016 with Hu Lohano Chhu-a socially driven play spotlighting the Lohana community. He wrote, directed, and starred in the production, showcasing his deep commitment to cultural storytelling.
Soon after, he launched another socially reflective play titled Bachpan, exploring the journey of human life. This production was also written and directed by Manthan and produced by Sanket Thakkar.
From August 2016 to March 2017, Manthan paused his professional work to envision a larger impact on the Gujarati stage and screen. Though his initial attempt to produce short films based on regional stories was halted due to government restrictions, his resolve remained strong.
During Diwali and New Year of 2017-2018, Manthan and Sanket Thakkar founded SGMF - Support Gujarati Movies Forever, a platform dedicated to uplifting the Gujarati theater and film industry. What began as a grassroots initiative quickly evolved into a cultural movement, bridging everyday audiences with filmmakers and industry professionals. Within just one year, SGMF organized fashion shows, cultural events, award ceremonies, short films, web series, and feature films-reaching over 7,000 Gujaratis and forming a vibrant creative community. The success of SGMF marked a turning point, and Manthan-Sanket's efforts to promote Gujarati culture have continued with unwavering passion.
Their journey has attracted media attention, with interviews and coverage highlighting their mission: to ensure every Gujarati stays informed and inspired by the evolving landscape of Gujarati stage, screen, and storytelling.
